Gurley doesn't defend well and can't even rebound.

If he was struggling to score but doing those two things well he wouldn't be such a problem

It’s been 10 games and you already have your mind made up

I mean it’s 1/3 of the season completed so it’s not a small sample size. Doesn’t help that Oats said he shot poorly all summer too.

You’re taking 10 games over 2 years. He’ll find his groove in conference play when he can settle into a role. Oats is basically freestyling lineups to see what works and what doesn’t at this point. We’ve picked up big wins and those matter more than bad losses when you’re vying for a top seed instead of a bubble situation. Just give him a little time, he’s an athletic forward who’s shot well during his career. If he can step up and take over the Petty role, the sky is the limit for this team.

What do you mean 10 games over two years?

And I don't think we brought Gurley here to fill the Petty role. They just have completely different skill sets. To me, Gurley seemed more like a replacement for the Reese role, but for whatever reason it just simply has not clicked yet. Hopefully it does sooner than later though, because we could really use it.

Not sure that time will make him quicker, get a mean streak and play harder. That shouldn't be an issue.

Kentucky-Ohio St. canceled due to Covid. How are we still canceling games for this?

His two years at Furman

When I say Petty role I mean 3&D wing, and that’s where he’ll have to find his niche if he wants to be successful on this team. Him and Alex Reese are polar opposites. And whatever the intention was when we recruited him, that situation is fluid, especially in sports where injuries occur and now we desperately need a wing

.

Because the delta variant that lit up the south in July/August/September moved north and east. They assumed it was bad here because us southerners were just dumb.

They’re learning differently now.

Which makes the shutdowns pointless in the first place.

Pretty much. That’s what the south did when delta hit us. Florida was hammered in the media when they spiked but they and the rest of the southeast rode it out and now it has been ages since I answered a covid 911 call.

The smug northern states thought they’d avoid it with their more restrictive measures but now it’s eating them up despite those measures.

If you are in the medical field it ain’t fun but experience is really showing that your choices are to live life and do the best you can during delta or cower, hide, be miserable during delta and yet have no better success avoiding the wave than those living life. The states that chose to live life made the right call.

How are y’all expecting us to do in our next 3?(Jville St,ColSt,Tenn) I’m personally expecting 3-0 and think we match up extremely well with all of these teams.

I’m thinking 3-0. But if we take CSU and Tenn lightly then 1-2. I’m worried about the atmosphere for the UT game because students will still be at home

Yea. I'm hoping people will be tired of sitting around the house eating left over turkey etc and will want to get out of the house. I'll guarantee I'm there to beat those nasty Vols.

In terms of depth, doesn't look like it

Villanova has a great top end with Baylor, UCLA, Purdue and Tennessee

Baylor=Baylor

UCLA>Memphis

Houston>Purdue(IMO Houston is matchup hell for big and slow Purdue. Look at the UNT/Purdue game and how they ran Edey and Williams out of the game)

Gonzaga>>>>>>>Tennessee

I love our schedule and I really think it’s gonna be a huge confidence boost in March when they can see they’ve beaten the top seeds already
