We couldn’t decide if wanted season tickets since we’re all out of town but finally decided to go ahead and get 4 separate sets of 2 for us and our wives at like 9pm last night. Roll Tide boys, ready for a great season!

My parents are retiring to Birmingham/Tuscaloosa in the next 2-3 months and my dad bought season basketball tickets a few weeks ago before they even finalized the move. It was quite literally his first order of business now that he'd be back closer to campus

A few more details on this record setting accomplishment
Alabama Men’s Basketball Sets Season Ticket Record
Season ticket sales are nearing the 7,000 mark as 2021-22 season approaches, single-game tickets and mini plans are also on sale
Coming off a historic season last year, excitement is certainly high for the upcoming 2021-22 Alabama men's basketball season. So much so, the Alabama Athletics TIDE PRIDE/Ticket Office announced it set a record in season tickets sold, which surpassed the 6,700 mark as of Thursday morning.
Single-game tickets and mini plans can be purchased by visiting RollTide.com or by calling the TIDE PRIDE/Ticket Office at (205) 348-BAMA (2262) or toll free at 1-877-TIDETIX (843-3849). The ticket office in Coleman Coliseum is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Extended hours for phone orders are through 8 p.m. on Wednesdays and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays.

The 25 Most Intriguing College Basketball Players for 2021-22 (The Athletic)
quote:
6. Jaden Shackelford, Alabama
No transfer decision — initially — was more perplexing than that of the Crimson Tide’s leading scorer. Head to the NBA? Sure, we could wrap our head around that. But Shackelford’s toe-dip in the portal, seemingly in search of a program that would feature him more, was odd. On the one hand, yes, his sophomore year production was nearly identical to his freshman year production, and maybe there was some angst about further development. On the other hand, Alabama plays incredibly fast, and Shackelford took more shots (11.4 per game) than any Crimson Tide player in 2020-21 and had the second-highest usage rate (23 percent). That’s a good situation for a guard.
quote:
Anyway, such is college basketball. It’s always something. The best route, usually, involves all parties maximizing mutual benefit. Lo, Shackelford is back, and Nimari Burnett’s unfortunate injury means the 6-3 junior will carry more of the offensive burden than even initially thought. The rest has to be buried under a thick layer of scar tissue. The SEC is too taxing for Alabama to thrive any other way.

Since I don't see a Tide in the NBA, I'll post here.
Herb Jones is on concussion protocol.
LINK
Here's an excerpt from the article:
Jones has averaged 6.9 points (53.7% FG), 2.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.3 steals in the seven games he’s started — modest counting stats that don’t fully illustrate his impact. The Pelicans have outscored opponents by 33 points with him on the floor and have gotten outscored by 92 points when he’s on the bench.
Jones has defended elite perimeter scorers such as De’Aaron Fox of the Sacramento Kings and Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns. The 6-foot-7 Jones is a versatile wing, which Green has tried to use to his team’s advantage on both sides of the floor. Green has had Jones initiate the Pelicans' offense in spurts. He scored the first basket of the second half Tuesday by blowing by Booker for a layup.

Jones has been an absolute steal for the Pelicans. From a 2nd round pick to one of their best players already. Pels fans do seem to be down on Kira a little though

Honoring, remembering and celebrating our guy Fluff
Alabama Basketball to Honor Cameron Luke “Fluffopotamus” Ratliff on Opening Night
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama basketball will honor Cameron Luke Ratliff in between the season-opening doubleheader on Tuesday, Nov. 9 at approximately 7:40 p.m. CT. Ratliff, affectionately known as "Fluffopotamus" or "Fluff," was an active student leader and president of Crimson Chaos, who passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021 at the age of 23.
The Wadesboro, N.C. native often stood out in the crowd of fans with his trademark plaid jacket and positive contributions to the game-day experience at Alabama sporting events. As an unofficial member of the men's basketball team, Ratliff attended every game during the 2020-21 season and all but one in a 45-game span.
The recognition will pay tribute to Ratliff and will conclude with the presentation of a plaid jacket to the new Crimson Chaos president, a tradition that will continue to take place in Ratliff's honor.

So we have almost 7,000 season tickets sold. How many student and faculty seats so we reserve. We have 30 something thousand students. How is a 9.000 seat arena going to work?

So I'm sure it's already been discussed in this thread, but there are two absolutely brutal 3-game stretches in this season:
Dec 4-14: @ Gonzaga, Houston, @ Memphis
Jan 29-Feb 5: Baylor, @ Auburn, Kentucky (we also turn around and host Arkansas on Feb 12th)
If those teams are what we expect them to be when we play them, how many of those 6 (or 7 if you count Arky) does Bama need to win to be considered a Final Four contender? Is half enough?
