If Oats gets Omoruyi I will dedicate myself to a full season of college basketball for the first time since the mid-late 2000s. Damn that man has done a great job. Hopefully it won't be too painful should it come to this.

Just love the fact that nobody learns from a failure more than Nate Oats. The guy makes it his mission to fix issues from previous seasons. There is no better trait in management/leadership than ruthlessly accepting and hunting solutions to failures. He did it with defense 2 years ago and the portal/roster issue this year. He's gonna have 20 potential guys lined up ready to make a move on to ensure we're never in the situation we were in last year again (and that roster went to the Final Four).

He put in an RPM for us for Onyenso.
It sounds like we are after both him and Cliff, but only taking 1 per Mac. Onyenso is in the draft process. So I'd guess we'll see what we hear on Cliff in the next 48 hours.
Onyenso has very similar rim protection and rim running numbers to Cliff, just in less minutes. He also fouls a little more than Cliff. Still, if we don't get Cliff, he'd be about as good a backup option as we could hope for.

Yeah I just saw the note there is a good chance it will be Onyenso. Fair enough I'm in with any near 7 footer with a last name that begins with O.

I'd much rather have Omoruyi. Onyenso is mostly a good defender in theory because he has Inspector Gadget arms and huge potential as a shot blocker. He's a bit soft from what I saw of him last season though. Obviously that could change, and if he ever did live up to the potential he could be a monster. Omoruyi is a sure thing though and if the roster ends up shaping up the way it looks like it might, I'd rather have the sure thing.

Agreed. Cliff is the clear #1.

Bro if you have an issue with those, start a GoFundMe. Whatever you do, do not change those tickets.
Nobody change anything.

Rumor on another board is that Cliff is asking for a HUGE NIL price. Bigger than Bama or anyone else is likely willing to pay. I have no idea if this aligns with reality or not, but that's what has been mentioned.

Probably either "Source: I made it up" from a fan on a message board or Cliff's agent trying to create a bidding war.

If it looks like you might lose out on a recruit, the only reason has to be they’re just asking for too much money

Rather have Cliff but Onyenso will be a good backup plan.
Omiyuri asking price according to some guy on BOL is $1.5M.

I'm sure he is asking a huge NIL. It seems like the old saying, board man gets paid, is ringing true with NIL. But it's down to us and UNC. From what I've heard, UNC doesn't do bidding wars. They'll pay fair nil, similar to us. But going up against them vs some of the old desperate blue bloods (Indiana, Kentucky) is much more favorable.
Also, us and UNC both are going after other options. Us with the Kentucky O center, and UNC with Aidoo. If Cliff wanted a bidding war, he should've gotten involved in the Kentucky/Arkansas dick swinging contest. That'll get a dude paid.

That's just smart negotiating. This is his last shot at a bag. If he asked for $500,000 and a few programs after him were willing to go as high as $1 million then he just left a ton of money on the table. So if he's asking for something stupid like $5 million it's likely just to get counters to feel out where everyone else actually is.

It used to have us at 5, but i guess some data changed on his end with other schools. That's with Sears, Nelson and Labaron.

Oyenso would basically be another Chuck IMO. Not really anything on the offensive end but defensively will be a monster. I will gladly take it.
