Anyone who thinks Oats has mishandled this situation is unwise. I doubt he would leave anyway, but only a fool would disqualify him for consideration because of his handling of this.

Frankly, I would have preferred he not back track on his “wrong place, wrong time” comment. It was a little off but not really wrong.

My first game of the year tomorrow. Can’t wait! Not sure I will get there in time for a shirt. But definitely for player intros.

Great interview from Nate Oats.

Handled some questions about Brandon Miller as well.

Stay afterwards too for the Senior Day presentation (and then stroll over to the Joe for free baseball at 4 pm)

Oats saying the wrong thing Tuesday

This keeps getting thrown out there, but I have no idea how saying Miller being in the wrong place at the wrong time was anything but factual, based on the reports. His comments had ZERO to do with the overall situation. He was specifically commenting on Miller, who, according to police and all other reports, was basically just a witness.

As a person pretty well versed in the english language, I have no idea how people are skewing his comments to be distasteful. Even Byrne got on board, which I think is partially what's driving a lot of our fans to say it.

I suppose he's supposed to answer every question from now on with, "This is a tragic situation and our thoughts and prayer's are with the girl's family. Brandon was not involved in the shooting at all, other than to be at an unfortunate place to give a ride to his friend at an unfortunate time."

The backlash Oats is getting for his simple, factual comment is asinine.

Timing is everything. He came across as insensitive to the grieving family

To idiots who want to believe that and/or don't understand the subject of a converstaion.

Reporter - "We heard Miller was there."

Nate - "Yes, we have known he was there. The police have told us from the beginning he's not a suspect and is only considered a witness. Wrong place wrong time, basically."

World - "OMG! How could he say that?! What about the family?!"

I am not arguing about it - just distilling the criticism. All of this is a stupid explosion and the Rant is unreadable. Consistently - 20 out of 25 threads on the first page have been about this all week. As long as I have read the Rant, no topic has garnered so many threads as this one. Threads from fans of almost every team. Any fart of a thought that passes, they have to post it

That's a very worrying trend if they're heading into College station a week from tomorrow with the conference title on the line

Indeed it is.

And we seem to have largely avoided a February collapse, but until proven otherwise, enough collective Alabama basketball experience remains on this board to foresee (and possibly expect) the worst possible scenario over the next week.

I really can’t blame lsu fans for feeling the way they do. If I had to live in a state that’s equivalent to a busted sewer line in my backyard I’d feel miserable as hell too.

Beating Auburn on the road was a very good road win, they rarely lose at home. Played great @Houston too. 9 and 2 on the road isnt bad at all.

They're really in a bad spot playing us and Tennessee on the road, followed by Kentucky at home.

I expect a tight game tomorrow, but on the off chance that it does happen to get away from them... oof.

Tough draw to end the regular season.

Ok so…Antonio Brown might be at practice. Maybe not the best guy to have around

Twitter

ETA: On second thought that looks like it’s prior to a game. Just bizarre

He wasn't there he's just reposting the video because it's his song that was playing.
