Trying not to be a homer here, but Oats is really a bit of a savant. The only other team in the SEC that runs sets as good as ours is Vandy, and Stackhouse spent like 30 years around NBA offenses. A dude who played at a DIII school, never sniffed a professional roster, and taught math to high school kids for like 15 years has no business drawing up the kind of stuff Oats does when we need a bucket.

This definitely gets lost on some people. Oats is going to continue to improve as a coach (and even recruiter) as his experience continues to grow and grow.

We need to do everything possible to hold onto him. I wouldn't be upset if he wanted to try out for the NBA one day but letting him go to another college program would be very disappointing.

I'm glad he's staying on our guys to be physical and rebound.

The boogs where I work are total shitheads about Bama basketball. When AU was making their run in the NCAA tourney a few years ago I was nothing but complimentary. This year, complete silence from them. Pathetic and envious lot they are.

That is Auburn fans in general towards anything Alabama. One side of my entire family is this way. Auburn has a good team, they are suddenly interested in discussing sports. Alabama is good and Auburn sucks, they are silent.

Am I crazy, or did Duke just get absolutely fricked? How is accidentally punching an opposing player in the throat not a flagrant 1? Isn't unintentionally making excissive contact literally the definition of a flagrant 1?

All of this bullshite about Texas. How is that a better basketball job than Bama? It’s a lateral move.

They were talking about Texas specifically, Morgan's take was a nice shiny new arena is great but people will look at that job and realize the expectations may not be realistic at all. Look at coaches like Rick Barnes and Shaka Smart.

Or at least a common foul, which would have put them on the FT line in double bonus. Celebrating or not, that was a foul.

This is why Texas is a terrible job. It's a good basketball job at a football school just like Alabama or UTk, but with the demands and expectations of a job at a big time basketball school like Villanova or UConn. I don't know why, but Texas clearly thinks they are better than being consistently in the tournament.

I have no idea how that wasn’t called a flagrant 1. It’s not intentional when a guy swings his elbows getting a rebound either yet that’s an automatic foul. A celebrating throat punch is worse.

Kansas vs Baylor on ESPN is a pretty good game. Baylors up by 7 with about 10 minutes left.

We got bad draws this year about every matchup in the big12/sec challenge this year the big12 team is ranked higher. I think the only three exceptions are us @ Oklahoma, Auburn @ WV, and Tennessee vs Texas.

Biggest threatfor Oats to Texas is NIL money. You have to be able to buy players these days. I hope we are stepping up.

Kansas’ schedule is brutal

They are in a stretch where they play 7 ranked teams in 8 games and the unranked team is UK at Rupp.

You have a point. But, Nate Oats learned a big lesson about me-first players last season. He seems to have done an outstanding job of assembling this roster and it wasn't done with a ton of NIL money.

Have lost 3 in a row too, and the few before that were very close wins.

KU had been flirting with disaster for a couple of weeks before this skid. They needed a pretty big comeback to get past OU and OSU, if I remember correctly. I think they’ll figure it out, they usually do.
