I can’t remember a basketball game I’ve been more excited/nervous about.
I vividly remember us playing Stanford in the ‘04 tourney at my dad’s house and we were watching together on the couch. We were down by 13, he got mad and went to watch it in his bedroom. Then we went on a 16-0 run. He came back to the couch and we struggled. He went to his room and Pettway hit that 3. We decided he should just stay in his room until it was over.
Said all that to say we were playing with house money then, but this team is different, we should win these next 2 games and get to Houston. We’re that talented, our coach is awesome, and the team is deep. It’s kind of that Bama football feeling, knowing you’ve got the talent, but just hoping it all comes together at the right time.

It was a short video from a local news station in San Diego. They had one of those touch screens at their station with the bracket showing our matchup. The anchor kept saying how tough of a game it would be for the Aztecs and then showed multiple times that their touch screen would allow Alabama to be selected and dragged to the E8 as the winner, but the screen would not allow SDSU to be selected as the winner. He could click and drag, but no matter what he tried it would never stay in the E8 box - only Alabama would.
ETA: sounds really dumb typed out. It was just a fun little video that I decided was a spoiler for this evening.

Kidding aside, I've been watching games all season with my paralyzed uncle, who's really close to dying of cancer. And honestly, this run has been the only thing where he acts positively. It's been rough, but it's been one of the only things to him that's been important. Obviously sports aren't something you should hold that dearly. But when your near your last breath, it's a nice way to distract your from the harsh reality.
