The more I watch San Diego State, the more I don’t see Tennessee as a good comparison.
I see a longer, more athletic Virginia as a better comp. They make you work and grind out possessions, but they’re not overwhelming or physical like Tennessee.
Yep - they line up just general metric wise with Tennessee, but their defensive style of play is much more like Virginia or us, frankly, than Tennessee. They don't foul a lot, they don't turn the other team over a lot, they switch everything.
I agree with everything Harper said. I think that it may take us a while, maybe even halftime adjustments, to start getting comfortable against their defense. I don't think they will ever get comfortable against our defense.

Almost nobody has. Pretty much Gonzaga, and that was freak of nature level shooting. I still would rather avoid them, but no way is that performance replicable.

What is the board's opinion on a possible rematch with Tennessee? They lose Zeigler but will have two starters who were out for our first meeting. I'm not sure I'd like us to play them again.

I want them again for revenge but I worry about the refs letting them shank us all game like before. And losing to them again would really fricking suck so I hope FAU pulls that one out.

My thoughts exactly. I don't want the game to be decided by the type of crew we get to call the game. The people up here in Knoxville would be unbearable. Most of the ones I have talked to were prepared for an early tourney bounce.

They are just a mental tough team, the Bradley kid is one of the players you want on your team when a game is close and late.
They kind of punched us in the mouth and we were not ready for it after the tough Creighton loss, got lucky to get the W.
Having said all of that, Bama shouldn't have an issue if they bring their A game. They have a good perimeter D but Bama is good enough to win even when they struggle from Deep. Bama should have success most of the night on the defensive side of the ball.

For good reason. They had lost 5 of their last 12 games before the NCAA tournament started. If you think our morale was low after squeaking through our last 4 regular season games at 3-1.

I got bored last night and rewatched the highlights from the Houston game. I'd forgotten good improve of a comeback we made. Clowney was on fire.
And that's why I feel good about this weekend. Even when we have a bad start or get away behind, they don't give up. They just keep fighting. And that was in a hostile as hell environment.

Confident on a neutral court but would be extremely nervous, if the refs let them play they're extremely difficult to beat. What would work in our favor is prep time and I trust our offense to get going in a rematch a bit more than their offense replicating some of the shots they got to fall that night.

We smoke them like we smoked A&M the second time. Really want to meet Tennessee in the Final Four and beat them. Then we can say we beat every team in the SEC

Massive Pace difference. SDSU wants to slow this down. Bama has slight rebounding edge, and huge AL advantage when SDSU has the ball. Aztecs great vs 3pts. Biggest difference in game will be whether or not SDSU can win turnover battle.

Could just be indigestion, but I think we beat SDSU by around 10.
