They’re only playing like crap relative to how they’re capable of playing. As you said, they just closed against 3 highly motivated, well coached tourney teams and beat 2. If they play like crap in the SEC tourney, it’s time to worry but IMO we just aren’t there yet.
Yep. Absolutely agree. In January, we saw our ceiling. Lately, we've seen our floor. It's obviously worrying to see your floor late in the season. But being such a streaky sport, there's time to get back to our standard.
Hell, just look at how many updates occurred yesterday from top 25 teams. Some good teams got their asses kicked at home. And if you've paid attention before mid February, you've seen it all year.
The loudest and whiniest seem to be the more casual fans. Which is easy to do when you apply football logic to college basketball. And in all reality, our football expectations and standards are based on a dynasty that nobody thought possible outside of a video game.

quote:I agree. We've got guards who can drive the lane, and with all the bigs that we can play, lobs and put-backs (Orebs) will be numerous.
I’d rather a team try to push us off the 3 pt line and take that aspect away. We’ll score in the paint all game. If a team defends us the way A&M did we have to make them pay.
One other thing...if we get out and run after defensive rebounds right from the jump, we'll wear teams down, and get'em in foul trouble come later in the 2nd half. It's called JQ time!

Texas Tech suspend Mark Adams…..they may be staging a coup to bring back Chris Beard
Staging a coup? Here's from an article...
quote:
Adams was encouraging the student-athlete to be more receptive to coaching and referenced Bible verses about workers, teachers, parents, and slaves serving their masters.
And there's apparently a story out about him spitting on a player.
From Jeff Goodman...
quote:
There was also a separate incident earlier in season school is also investigating in which Adams spit on a player.
Adams told Stadium he had gone to the doctor, had a bad cough and slobbered on the player during the game.
“I can spit on you whenever I want to,” one person close to the situation said Adams responded to the player.
I'd actually like to send the dude a thank you card, for taking the media's attention away from us.
They may take Beard back. It's Lubbock. Who would really want to be there? There's not many schools wanting to get involved in that situation, when the DA dropped charges not because it didn't happen, but said it was based on the victim's wishes (aka good lawyer and fiance not wanting to lose her gravy train)

Liberty down 3 in the ASUN Championship with 2 minutes left. Crucial game for us to get on the right side of the bubble

They won’t do that. It would be a clear disadvantage for Houston

In the cbs bracket update today, Aub was in Bham on the Houston side as the 8 seed
Surely they wouldnt do that to Houston. Although plenty of Gumps would be there rooting on the Cougars

In the tournament that Alabama lost to Creighton in Greensboro, UNC and Duke was there. UNC and Alabama played in the daytime session. Duke played the now infamous game against Lehigh, where they lost in a 2-15 matchup.match up. There were tons of UNC fans there rooting for Lehigh to the point it drowned out the Duke fans.

Yeah but Duke and UNC were 1 and 2 seeds.
They aren’t gonna give an 8 seed Home court advantage over a 1….plus Auburn will be a 10 seed at best

Me. And I’d be wearing my Go Coogs sweatshirt from the Bham Bowl a couple of years ago.

Absolutely zero chance of that. No way they would put a #1 seed at risk of playing AU in Birmingham

The first one, depending on context, can be perfectly innocent. That’s straight scripture. Someone not brought up Christian could miss the meaning for sure but it isn’t lose your job material. Of course, the context and intent of it’s use is incredibly important.
The second, if he intentionally spit on players he needed his arse whipped on the spot and then needed to be fired.

South Alabama is three halves away from dancing as the 8 seed out of the Sunbelt. Playing really well as of late.
This game looks like it’s being filmed on a potato.

Well said and I agree with both points. We haven't been the same the last 2 weeks or so. But at the same time we missed a lot of WIDE open 3s yesterday and seemed like a lot of them were just coming up short.
Tired legs and here's why:

This gets misunderstood a lot because of the horrific slave trade that happened over 1000 years after it was written. The Greek word is better translated “bond servant.” They didn’t have social programs to keep people from starving back then like they do in America today, so if you fell on hard times you could pledge yourself to work for someone in exchange for food and shelter. The Israelites were actually instructed to treat those people well, and there were set dates where people who had pledged themselves would be set free of their bonds (think it was every 7 years, which I believe is where the US got its bankruptcy and negative credit reporting time periods of 7yrs). I also think there were Old Testament laws that said a bond servant could run away to another land owner and the original owner was not allowed to demand them back. All of these laws were actually designed to help poor people not get taken advantage of, while people today use it to say slavery was condoned or encouraged.
That said, if he used it to say they were his slaves or even bondservants (as in they pledged to play/work for the team in exchange for room/board/education), that’s a bad look. However, there’s always 2 sides to every story and you see how much the media skewed the BM situation for clicks.
