Kalen DeBoer says he wants to make sure he's clear that Parker Brailsford will "be here" and "it's not a transfer thing."

"He's going through some non-football related things. He's gonna be with us. ... Never done anything wrong. Working hard and will be ready to go here sooner than later."

Saw some rumblings on Twitter that Parker's issues were "personal" and not related to football, so glad to see DeBoer confirm it.

Kalen DeBoer on Jaeden Roberts: "Jaeden's gonna be fine. He might be down for a little bit here but will be fine. We'll do some follow-up evaluations, but early reports feel like it will be nothing major."

Thank god.

Multiple sources mentioned that Ty Simpson looked sharp in the scrimmage. The third-year quarterback seems to have sped up his internal clock, diagnosing what the defense is giving him and getting the football out to the right guy pretty consistently. One person told us that he “looks like a natural in DeBoer’s system.” Simpson put his mobility on display too with a long “touchdown” run. In total, we’re hearing he had two touchdown passes. The touchdown run was apparently called down by a “favorable whistle” for the defense.

Just watched DeBoer‘s post scrimmage press conference. The more I see & hear from him, the more I think Byrne may have hired the perfect guy to follow Saban. I think he’s gonna be a hell of a coach at Bama.

I hope you’re right. He isn’t overwhelmed at all. Seems like he just hit the ground running on all cylinders.

It might be all Simpson needed was the right coach/system to unlock his powers. He's got the talent. Love to see it.

DeBoer reminds me of a dad of a friend of mine. Not an actual guy, but the kind of guy you meet when going to a friend’s house.

“Hey guys, burgers are on the grill. Who wants cheese in theirs?”

No idea why this post being down voted. Common knowledge Saban was playing favorites the last few years.

From what we are used to Simpson could throw for 500 yards and 6 TDs during ADay, and Milroe could throw for 115 with 6 turnovers and it will still be Milroes team

I dont think he was playing favorites. I think the loudest voices on the team wanted Milroe and they had the ability to leave. So Saban was forced to lose the team or start the guy they wanted. The power dynamic has shifted. That is mainly why he retired. Inmates running the asylum now.

Anyone know what the OL looks like on the two deep? Are their serious battles still going on or have they been firmed up. Is there any news on the player who left to go to Iowa and make comeback when the portal opens back up?

I hope Pritchett has massively improved or we’re back to square one at one tackle spot. I know Proctor is coming back but I hope he doesn’t show up weighing over 400 lbs like he did last year.

We haven’t done him any favors with his coaching since he’s been here:

-BOB as OC
-BOB leaves, Rees takes over with new style offense
-Rees leaves, DeBoer takes over with new offense

That’s a lot to process and too many different voices telling him too many things especially given that only the current guy has any claim to really being a top tier OC/offensive guy.

Hearing a lot of hype surrounding Ty Simpson. 2 TD passes during the scrimmage. Nothing against Milroe, but if the light came on for Ty under DeBoer and the OLine at least marginally improves from last season, combining all that with the incredibly stacked RB room would be very exciting.

You're outside your mind if you think Saban let anyone, let alone the players, dictate to him who was going to be the starter at any position.
