Instead of having the names engraved like the pic shows (which I think looks cheap and shitty) on a two or three piece slab of stone, I think a 3D raised look would look awesome. Each letter cut of stone with crimson led lights illuminating behind it.

Damion Square
I was in school with this dude. He used to say some funny stuff. Not sure if it is the kind of stuff that should be said on TV. But im interested to see what he brings. He has much more personality than Harris, who always came across kinda... square.

Have they released a depth chart for the game yet?

2024 Bold Predictions: 10 Things I Think will happen in college football this fall

quote:
2. Jalen Milroe leads all Power 4 quarterbacks in total touchdowns
My On3 colleague Andy Staples selected Alabama’s quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick in our 2024 QB Fantasy Draft earlier this month — and will good reason. Milroe is that electric, and although there’s plenty of volatility to his game, he has the potential to put up bananas numbers in Kalen DeBoer’s offense.
In his first season as a starter (one in which he was benched for the USF game), Milroe had 35 total touchdowns. I think that number is closer to 50 this year — and is tops among all power conference QBs. Milroe averaged 6.3 yards per carry on actual rushing attempts, with 12 touchdowns. DeBoer will lean even harder on Milroe’s wheels.

What evidence exists to land on that conclusion? There's no prior history of DeBoer having big rushing yards from the QB position.
While I would like to think the legs will be utilized, it's a "wait and see" situation until proven otherwise. And truthfully, until the Georgia game, I hope there are some wrinkles to the offense kept under wraps.

In honor of the season starting I thought I'd show how very old I am by saying I've seen them all the coaching changes since Bear abruptly retired.
We lost a lot of talent when Saban left the building especially on defense. DeBoer seems to have done a credible job at filling the gaps with portal players but they are all unproven. DeBoer also has offensive and defensive coordinators who are not proven on the biggest stage of college football. Because of all these question marks the press is not going to rank Alabama highly. Alabama is almost like America in the beginning. Winning the insurrection was one thing, but to be taken seriously we have to hold it together and win some wars as a nation.
To his credit I do believe that DeBoer has displayed an almost Stallings like focus on what needs to be done. His personality is nothing like Stallings, but DeBoer seems to not be effected by the hoopla of being the Alabama coach rather focusing on the nuts and bolts of building a winning team doing what he knows has worked for him everywhere else. In my experience this is a quality all winning coaches have, to be able to keep their vision focused on what matters.
You never know how things are going to go. Stallings was not a winning head coach in the NFL ranks when we hired him and he took us to a national championship. Curry was considered a quality up and comer when Alabama hired him though most felt this was too big a step for him. I don't know if it was too big a step but Curry was just the wrong personality for this program. Nobody realized Mike Price was an alcoholic, Mike Shula seemed a good decision at the time but he too had the wrong personality for this job. Mike Dubose was wholly unqualified for the job on every level. I have no real explanation for Dennis Franchione, I believe he knew in his heart he was never going to be good enough head coach for this program and he got out while the getting was good.
Time will tell how DeBoer's personality blends with the Bama culture. We won't really know what Alabama will be under DeBoer for another year or two. Hopefully everybody will be happy and moving forward by then. I will say that Greg Byrne is a professional at his job and when he performed the coaching search of his career he seemed to go about it in the right way. He got advice from the important people, not the rich people, the important Alabama football people. And of course Saban is quietly still involved in the program adding more than we can probably even see behind the scenes. Do not fret when he picks Alabama to lose on ESPN. He's being paid as an annalist and he will do that job like a professional should, but he still loves the Crimson Tide.
losses will happen. How we respond to those losses will define Alabama's future. How we the fans respond, how the coaches respond, how the players respond. It's really always that way but will be amplified in the next 24 months. Success isn't just going to be measured by wins and losses. Success for us is rebuilding the foundation for another 17 year run of competing for championships.

As a FBS head coach Kalen Deboer's starting QBs have rushed for a total of 186 yards in a 4 year span. Milroe ran for more than that in the first two weeks of November last year.
In those same 4 years his starting QBs have had 9 rushing TDs. Milroe had 12 last year.
DeBoer does not have a history of having his QBs run a lot.

Watched the CFB Nerds deep dive into Bama and thought it was interesting that they said he's had multiple QBs rush for over a 1000, but I'm not going through old NIAI stats to see if that's true.
