I don’t know what people were expecting. Ty was well aware, and chose to stay here. I’m proud to have both guys on the team.

I agree, he's made it clear, and Jalen has acted like there's been no question he would keep his job since the offseason started.

But it's always nice to hear how well a player is doing in a new system, especially at a position as important as QB. Having an already physically talented guy like Simpson with a firm grasp of DeBoer's offense is nothing but positive. If Jalen has to sit out a game or two due to injury or struggles, having Ty come in and hopefully not miss a beat is about as solid of a QB situation as a team could ask for.

I’m hearing good things. I’m going to the scrimmage August 17. Want to see everything for myself.

I mean, it's clear to anyone with common sense that Milroe will start the first game of the season. Doesn't mean he is cemented into the role though. If Simpson never starts at any point this season then that likely will mean that Milroe is playing very well. If he struggles, we will see Simpson. Pretty simple.

100% .

Ty said during his recruitment that he wasn't afraid of the Mac Jones route.

I mean, yeah, but only as much as it applies to every other starter on the team. It doesn't exceed any normal point to make it notable.

Love hearing that Simpson is focusing on improvement because you never know when you'll need a backup quarterback but you always hope they'll be ready to go when the time comes.

Ultimately, I doubt we see him much in 2024 unless Milroe has massive struggles or gets hurt.

I thought this was a pretty good read from Mike Rodak, best of luck to Ayden.

The new scholarship limit of 105 is going to kill programs outside the Power 4.

"What results could be something more NFL-like. That league has a 53-player limit on the main roster with a 16-player practice squad and various reserve lists including injured players. College football programs could similarly tier payments to players to create a "practice squad" of lesser-paid players."

Damn this makes me feel old.

That coupled with the expansion of scholarships for other sports with associated NIL for scholly players and future revenue sharing is going to kill a lot of things if left unchecked: facility upgrades, fan experience, non-revenue producing sports, small schools, etc

Is there a schedule showing all the practice dates leading up to the first game?

Yeah, that’s a tough cookie because NFL owners end up putting a fair chunk of their capital improvements for facilities onto the tax payer.

Who are our top 5 at WR? Is it Germi, Law, Kobe, and the two TFs? Anybody else on the radar? Any Manny Henderson news?

Biggest things I’m hearing are:

The QBs are looking really sharp. Milroe and Simpson.

Good surprises at WR with the young guys. Something I was worried about I don’t feel as bad.

Lots of attitude on defense, I think the scheme is more suitable for our age on defense in certain areas especially secondary. Hoping that holds.

The spirit of Lord Reichard has transcended upon our new kicker. He has been good, really good.

Hearing great things about Law this off season. Jam and Haynes are animals.
