Baseball Opens the Spring with First Full-Team Practice on Friday

The Friday session moved the Crimson Tide one step closer to the 2022 season opener on Feb. 18

"It was an exciting day for us," said head coach Brad Bohannon. "The kids did a great job over the break, came back in really good shape, and I could tell collectively that the group worked hard at home. This is a really pleasant group of guys to be around. They're good kids, they practice well, they like to play, and they really like each other. I couldn't be more pleased with where we are at right now, and I think three weeks from today we'll be ready to play some really good baseball."

a major publication has Bama 7th in the west. I realize these are predictions but guys in year 4 this is how the outside world perceives the team. What are thoughts if we finish this low in year 4 of Bo? I assume it would depend on whether we made it to an NCAA regional or not right?

Don’t see why not if done properly . Baseball is one sport that needs more dollars for athletes

Re: NIL - I’m hoping so too. Thus far all I’ve seen is this "Fans meet Idols" site where the guys offer coaching, recruiting advice, video appearances, etc. I looked at a few “merchandise” links on some of their pages and they all seem to point to the same GVT (good vibes tribe) storefront here. Glad to see they seem to be sharing the profits from that site. Hopefully a sponsor steps up and offers more opportunities - not sure any of them will get substantial financial benefit for this alone. Eleven baseball players on there so far and a few others from other sports.

Well those are just lazy projections. Texas A&M and Auburn were terrible last year and only A&M changed anything from last year getting Schlossnagle, which is granted a huge move. We'll see how big of a jump they make year 1 though. As for Auburn though, nothing significant has changed from last year. Coaches are the same, very average recruiting class, etc. They did get that big transfer from Samford, Carlson, but I doubt that changes their whole season outlook.

If we can trust some of these younger arms to mix in with the more experienced ones like Jean, McNairy, Guffey, and Green, this could be our best team yet. We return all our offensive production basically outside of Wilson and Praytor and have brought in some nice talent from the portal and the HS ranks.

Every year has built upon itself under Bohannon's tenure and I think this year will prove to be the same. Sucks to not have Prielipp on the mound to really push the progress along even more, but either way, I've been encouraged with our results year-over-year in probably the toughest conference of any sport in college sports.

Baseball Set to Begin New Week of Work Starting Tuesday

Alabama will practice on Tuesday and Thursday before three practice-scrimmage splits from Friday through Sunday

Alabama baseball wrapped up the first weekend of full-team practice on Sunday following a three-day stretch of work to begin the spring schedule. The Crimson Tide returns to the diamond on Tuesday afternoon to start the new week as the season opener on Feb. 18 draws closer.

Alabama will kick off the new week with a pair of practices on Tuesday and Thursday, each with a 2 p.m. CT start time. The Tide will then close out the week with three consecutive practice-scrimmage splits, beginning on Friday. Alabama's Friday schedule features a 2 p.m. practice followed by a 3:30 p.m. first pitch in the scrimmage. The Saturday and Sunday slates each start with a 12 p.m. workout and close with a 1:30 p.m. intrasquad.

Keeping it Crimson: Alabama OF Tommy Seidl Brings Experience to Tuscaloosa

When Seidl dons his Crimson Tide jersey for the first time this season, it won't be his first time playing for a 'Crimson' team at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.

Following the 2021 season, the catcher position was one of the biggest question marks for the Crimson Tide. Tamez aims to help answer that question.
