Auburn advances to the CWS making four SEC West teams in the World Series.

Half the field is from the SEC west.

Auburn and Ole Miss should lay waste to the idea that Alabama can't win in baseball. Put up or shut up time for Bo next year.

All the excuses we’ve had in the past just don’t add up anymore. While there are limitations, you can win at Alabama like you can anywhere else. Just way past time to make it happen.

Agreed to some extent, but I hate to give AU kudos as they went out and hired a fantastic coach. Not only is he a good developer of talent, he also kills it in portal acquisitions. They also have Tim Hudson as a "Volunteer" coach as well as a fantastic hitting coach in Gabe Gross. If we're going to make that next step, Coach BO has to go out and hire much better coaches and/or maybe pray there is a HOF player that would volunteer to coach.

In saying that, I see that Coach Bo is one of the lowest paid coaches in the SEC. You get what you pay for. Coach Butch Thompson at AU is in the upper half of pay

Wasn’t someone ITT hard up for the Michigan head coach? Looks like he was willing to leave afterall.

quote:

Erik Bakich is leaving Michigan after 10 years as head coach in Ann Arbor.

The 44-year-old is returning to where his college coaching career began, agreeing to a deal to become the next Clemson head coach, according to multiple reports.

Could be wrong but pretty sure that Butch signed a new deal after their first CWS appearance. He was right around where Bo was until that, and then he performed and was rewarded.

Makes sense - Clemson is a very good baseball job in a good baseball conference. I'm guessing the post-CWS shine wore off and he finally got tired of trying to win big with his hands tied behind his back up north.

Auburn has all the same in state limitations we do regarding scholarship programs like Hope. Yet they are in the CWS and we didn’t make a regional. Yeah, Bo better put up or shut up in 2023 or dust off his resume. No more excuses, it’s time to win.

Alabama will be making a change this time in 2023. I’m preparing myself. And I love Bo. But it’s time. I’ve already got a wish list. Cliff Godwin is at the very top.

Interesting choice but ECU was winning before he got hired.

He has taken them to a more consistent level. I believe he has coached 5 of their 6 Super Regional teams. They’ve never made it to Omaha but I think more resources at Alabama could be enticing to him if he doesn’t break through soon. He did speak with Alabama last time around. Plus lots of SEC experience as an assistant.

These 10 players stood out at Draft Combine workout

quote:

Connor Prielipp, LHP, Alabama
The most anticipated performer at the Combine, Prielipp didn't disappoint. A potential candidate to go No. 1 overall before he had Tommy John surgery in May 2021, he missed this season while rehabbing and had thrown just a single bullpen session workout for scouts before arriving in San Diego. He showed the stuff he had before his injury, averaging 93 mph with his sinker, snapping off three of his signature sliders at 85-87 mph and mixing in a couple of 87 mph changeups. He posted the highest breaking ball spin rate of anyone at 3,045 rpm.
