I am going to watch highlights to get a better idea but the understanding I have is this team is much improved on offense but quite vulnerable in the secondary.

In concept, that seems like a good matchup for us.

I am just unable to shake our vast swings in quality of play on the road under DeBoer. With a revenge game around the bend in week 3 and a young offense that could have probably used a 2nd tune up instead of week 2 conference road game, I’m thinking it is going to be a bit of a tussle.

I shot from the hip with 27-20 Alabama in the prediction thread. Tonight I’ll watch some highlights of their opener and see how I feel about that. Ha!

I just want us to go on the road, show up, and be ready to play some damn ball on the first snap.

I'm expecting an ugly win by 10-13 points, about where Vegas has it pegged.

It's a road game in the SEC and Kentucky has given plenty of teams an absolute fit in Lexington over the years. They took Georgia to the wire a few years ago and lost 14-13, they beat an LSU team that went on to win the natty, they went on the road and beat Ole Miss two years ago...it's just not your big brothers Kentucky. They are going to finish towards the bottom of the league, but they will scalp someone above them and give someone else above them all they want.

I just didn't see anything on Saturday from us that told me we're all of the sudden a disciplined football team where accountability is managed at the player level. I think we will beat Kentucky, but I think this team will be like the last two. Capable of losing to Kentucky and turning around and beating Georgia in a few weeks.

That's not my final verdict and it's subject to change- I just thought from a "discipline" standpoint I saw nothing saturday that gave an indication we'd turned over a new leaf. We're in an unenviable position. The name "Alabama" still carries an enormous amount of weight for our opponents. We are going to get everyone on the schedules best shot, but so far under Deboer we just don't have a team capable of handling that for 12 straight weeks. The Kentucky's and Mississippi State's and South Carolina's and Vanderbilts of the schedule scare the shite out of me for that reason. They've all got enough pieces to whoop your arse if you don't take them seriously.

Just win by one. We can bitch about on Sunday...again

We're not the 68 Green Bay Packers.

How about our punter? 60 yards from toe to receiver this past Saturday. He does need to get a little more height on them.

This is the most frustrating part of this regime… Saban had bouts of this but they were cleaned up quickly…year 3 with KDB and we’re still doing the same stuff from year 1…

I predict we'll absolutely annihilate them. Kentucky looks like wet toilet paper. They are horrible.

I'm betting big money on this game, and I'm giving Kentucky 9.5 points.

I'm no homer btw. I think we'll have our hands full against FSU, but this Kentucky team looks like straight arse.

In this era, we get 2 regular season mulligans.

I sincerely hope we don't waste one of them on Kentucky.

Getting a little worried about FSU too. Didn’t realize they had a bye coming into our game. That’s ridiculous.

Though, oddly enough, not Alabama.

While I don't hold much stock in "what you did last year" being able to help a team this year, UK hasn't been our boogey man the way some other SEC teams have.

In this millennium, Big Blue has lost to Bama in every Lexington meeting, and none were close. You have to turn the clock back all the way to Mike DuBose's miserable first year 1997... and even that too the Wildcats needed overtime to beat us. To get to their next win, 1922.

It's the biggest trap game on our schedule. Just like last year.

They'll come in unranked, so our team will likely be sleeping on them a little bit.

FSU has a great QB, and the size to match up with us physically. In my opinion, they're a top 25 team, and probably better than half of the SEC teams we'll face this season.

If we don't come into it ready to kick their arse, it could be an ugly 60 minute game. In terms of strengths/weaknesses, they're a bad matchup for us.
Obviously still think we'll win the game. Home field advantage should help us out. I just wish the game wasn't on our schedule tbh.

Did you even watch them play last night? They look horrendous.

The game where they took a #17 SMU to the wire, and they had to win on a last-second FG? Yeah, I saw it.
They looked like a top 25 team, like I said.

He passed for 125 yards against SMU. In the fourth quarter he was literally just throwing the ball up in the air hoping something miraculous would happen.

how so? We have an excellent secondary, and they don't pass the ball well. They are about as 1 dimensional as it gets.

and as far as offense, Jennings just shredded FSU to the tune of 430 yards and 3 TDs. Russell's game is very similar to Jennings.

We should smoke them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Ashton Daniels take us to the wire last year in the Iron Bowl and throw for almost 300 yards?

Just checking.

Good grief, I'm not saying FSU is some world-beater. I'm saying they're a top 25 team, they played like one vs. SMU, they have a bye week to prepare, and if we don't show up fired up and ready to go, it has the potential to be a 60-minute bullshite ugly game. I think we'll win, so chill out.

Did you think that last year when they came off a 5-7 season and beat us?… I did…
