We don't play a lot of our talent. Then when someone gets hurt the 2nd string guy looks better than the starter. That's something that has happened through the years.

For whatever reason , I can’t explain it, we don’t rotate WRs much with meaningful snaps

It's likely because young guys like Leary are not ready to play from a mental standpoint. As we saw on Saturday, if a WR can't read the defense and know when to sit in a zone, it can lead to incompletions (or interceptions).

Leary and other young guys might be really fast and might be able to catch the ball well, but if they don't understand the playbook, understand how to read defenses, and most importantly, how to block, they're a liability on the field, regardless of whether they can run a 4.2 40.

Particularly for Leary, he spent a lot of time at RB last year due to injuries, so he hasn't had a lot of time to learn how to play WR at this level.

My thoughts from the game are:

1. BOB sucks as a play caller. Like, super sucks.
2. We have no game-breakers at WR. Nobody to take the top off. Have we even taken a deep shot through two games at all? Nuts. No bueno.
3. Dalcourt is handicapping this OL for the 2nd straight year. He's not good at getting the line set and communicating protections like Seth is. He's going to get us beat sooner or later. #FreeSeth

I have no doubt the team is working together well but they are lacking in talent on the O Line and the WR group does not have the elite talent we've enjoyed watching over the last ten years or more.
But worse than that, BOB is the worst coordinator under Saban since Major Applewhite. These poor guys are limited by a terrible gameplan and even worse, little to no adjustment during the games.
If Sark or Kiffin were running the Bama offense last Saturday, Alabama would have won by 14+ points.

The shred of hope for the WR position is that the 2 quick twitch/spread the field guys we were counting on have not played a snap and will be back in very short order.

So we don’t have a shred of hope that freshman players will improve?

Daboll wasn’t great his one year, till that miraculous improvement at halftime of the national title game.

Crazy , i know, but what if some of the young players on the bench this year eventually show out like those guys did. Of course, the coaches have to actually play them.

Pretty obvious the best players weren't playing most of that year.

Someone put it perfectly: BOB is an NFL coach who expects every player to do his job and beat the man in front of him or in other words, near perfect execution. He doesn't think he has to scheme people open with mismatches and confusion. To expect that level of execution from college players, even at Alabama (and at the NFL level too for that matter) is unrealistic and the results show it.

I think BOB is good at game planning but doesn't do a good job with the feel of a college game once it gets going, especially if the gameplan needs to be tweeked or scrapped. The offense usually scores on the first couple of drives because they are scripted, once he has to start getting a feel for the flow of the game and calling plays he has no creativity at all it looks like to me.

It was a joke. Daboll wanted to play Tua and the young receivers long before the 2nd half of the title game. But young players improve during a season, so you all will have to pardon me for believing these young players can improve too, though there may not be a Devonta, Henry, or Jerry among them. Even one of those is rare. You will probably never see 3 in the same class, on the same team, ever again.

Sure, but I really meant the immediate issue that had been brought up regarding stretching the field

I think Bond has the most potential to fit that “game-breaker” role. But he’s got to catch the damn ball when BY puts it right in his hands on 3rd and long.

I think the OL has talent it’s just the combination of who. Dalcourt is not the guy, Seth is. If the coaches can’t watch the video and figure that out I don’t know what else they see in him.

We are getting two of our speedsters back. I watched Harrell at the scrimmage with a bum foot in a black jersey absolutely roast Arnold. I think him at X or Y and Earle in slot changes shite up. Especially if you sprinkle in Gibbs in an empty set. Good luck with that.

Aaron Anderson should be returning from injury soon as well.

We have talent at the WR positions. We just need the entire corps to get healthy. We have plenty of time to get them ready once they return to incorporate them into the offense unlike last year when Jamo and Metchie went down so late in the season.

It's not a matter of being healthy, it's a matter of play calling. Remember the Ohio State natty? We had the damn golden gazelle matched up on a LB. That didn't happen by accident. That's great scheming. We had plays that were designed to get our playmakers the ball in space. We don't have that shite now. It's all let Bryce read and find the open man. You'll never see BOB hold his hands up like Kiffin bc he knows a TD is coming.

So you are insinuating that it is unbecoming of a christian to call a point of view weak and pathetic? Meet John the Baptist who referred to people as snakes in the grass or Jesus who called people white washed tombs filled with dead men's bones. Weak and pathetic is what it is. You are free to attack my position. But not my character

An opinion about a game on a message board? Leaning that way, Pastor.
