The roughing the passer call was kind of weak on Turner

Yes, it was a vicious lick but I've seen that kind of hit a gazillion times with no call. Turner him a split second after the ball left Daniels hands. If Milroe had been hit like that, there would've been no call.

And then a few minutes later, Milroe is running the ball and is going down when LSU's Artie Burns clearly and flagrantly leads with the crown the helmet on Milroe's helmet, yet no call.

Yes, I know Turner was called for roughing the passer and what I'm talking about with Burns SHOULD have been targeting but they're both in the same vein.

I have to admit, I was astonished when they called LSU for holding a couple of times. That never, ever gets called.

I didn’t have a problem with it. It wasn’t a targeting but it was definitely roughing. And it wasn’t the hit necessarily, though it was high. It was the fact he drove him into the ground afterwards. That’s going to be called roughing every time.

As that Buffalo Wild Wings commercial makes clear, you now get called roughing the passer for going high or low. It wasn't particularly late, but it was high. It wouldn't have led to a concussion if it didn't happen that Daniels caught it right under his chin. A ton of these players wear their helmets too loose now. I think that was a factor there.

I really can't see how you can ask a rusher to go full steam and call roughing on that play. How can he stop? There was nothing dirty about that play. Very similar to the play on Texas quarterback last year. I guess tackling too hard is a foul. I remember a game against Missouri a few years back when I thought we got flagged a couple of times for tackling too hard. Am I out of touch with how the game is played?

So LSU fans are getting their Panties in a wad because they don’t want Dallas Turner to play the 1st half vs UK? That’s the only thing calling it targeting would have changed. The play was flagged.

Could have gone either way. Powerful hit, but it was clean. I didn't like the roughing call. But ball today is designed to give QBs an advantage.

The spear on Bryce last year with a no call was atrocious vs UT. Turner's hit was a football play that unfortunately ended in injury. But it wasn't a Nick Fairley dirty play that LSU wants it to have been.

They tell them to tackle with their heads up, unless it's the QB. They tell them to go low on big players, unless it's the QB. They tell them to use their body weight as leverage, unless it's the QB. A different set of rules for how you can tackle one position on the field is fricking stupid.

I think what drew the flag was Turner driving Daniels into the ground. You can't do that to a QB in today's game. By the letter of the rule, that was definitely roughing. However, people are nuts if they think it was targeting.

Thing is, every LB in the country would make the same hit. It was reviewed with no targeting called!

Agree,......clean hit but roughing by today's rule. Wasn't even close being a targeting

It was a late hit and a little excessive. Roughing by definition.

I think it’s absolutely a 50/50 call based on the rule book.

However anyone claiming that it was dirty is a certified swamptard

vicious lick

Was it really? Everyone needs to rewatch Bama vs Miami championship game. There was a whole helluva lot harder hitting in that game.

Hard, clean hit, but by today’s rules, it was roughing because he wrapped and drove him into the ground. Ref gave the “defenseless player, head and neck area” but it was the planting Daniels like a new flower!!

It seems there is a lot of angst out there. Lot of people taking this hit personally. There was a 15 yard penalty on the play. But they want Turner to pay. I mean it's a half against KY for Pete's sake.

What is his injury? Concussion or jaw? Anyway if he just chewed his mouthpiece halfway hanging out that play, which to me I saw him do it before every snap, that most certainly can be the cause of a concussion.
