Steve Sarkisian takes a shot at Ole Miss

Not sure what prompted this outburst. Yes, Texas is a fine school academically, but I don't believe for one second that they don't fudge a bit with academic standards for athletes. If a superstar athlete with shaky academics is accepted at OM, I guarantee you he would be accepted at Texas. LINK

Low blow and ridiculous. Any academically prestigious school with a reputable football program is not full of chemical engineering and computer science majors on their roster.

Doesn’t Vince young read at like a 4th grade level?

That was completely unnecessary. Why would you start that beef?

From the linked article inside your link:
quote:
“It’s like we’ve forgotten about academics, yet less than 5% of these guys will play in the NFL,” Sarkisian said.
It is here where Sarkisian is reminded of the swift move allegedly pulled off earlier this spring by the Ole Miss staff. Clemson coach Dabo Swinney claims Ole Miss coaches were recruiting Tigers linebacker Luke Ferrelli while he was in class — and after he had just transferred from Cal. Sent Ferrelli a photo of a million dollar check, and Swinney has the receipts to prove it.
And NCAA enforcement has done nothing. Absolutely nothing.
"Still haven't heard anything from the NCAA," Swinney said Monday during the ACC spring meetings.
Guess where Ferrelli is enrolled? Ole Miss. Which brings up another of the “inequitable” hills Sark is prepared to die on: academic inequity among FBS schools.
“At Texas, we will only take 50% of a player’s academic credit hours,” Sarkisian continues. “You may be a semester from graduating, but you’re going all the way back to 50% if you play here and want a degree. But at Ole Miss, they can take you. All you have to do is take basket weaving, and you can get an Ole Miss degree.”
Sounds like the reporter may have asked him a bit of a loaded question maybe? I understand what he's getting at as far as the academic stuff goes, but this is the definition of a those in glass houses situation. Texas wouldn't bat an eye at having a team full of illiterates if it guaranteed a championship.

DATA: Texas has the highest NIL transfer portal budget in 2026
Shut the frick up, Steve.
Academics.

I can’t keep up with the portal and who transferred where. Maybe OM poached a player from Texas kind of like how OM did with that kid who originally transferred from Cal to Clemson only to run off to Oxford?
Then again, Texas poached Smothers from Bama, so I don’t think Texas has any kind of moral high ground as far as poaching goes.

Sad to see this has taken his sobriety

Sark has fully absorbed that classic Texas superiority complex, which is funny given the fact that he's a beta male, like most Texas fans. They act like they're the gold standard at everything yet most of them have a higher chromsome count than IQ. Plus their women are dogshit hideous.
But hey, his suits are at least sharper than their gay cowboy hats.

I'm sure that matters for around 1% of transfers. They're all money whores more concerned with credit cards than credit hours. That's what an unelected, no name doofus judge turned the sport into. Talking academics in relation to college football was funny 10 years ago...today it's downright hilarious.

Sark is being disingenuous. He’s complains about academic differences but has no problem with no salary caps and Texas outbidding anyone for recruits. He’s full of shite.
