So what's the consensus on Michigan?

I haven't watched a single game of theirs. All I know about is the sign stealing scandal...and even that is surface level.

They good? Great? Average? Any SEC teams you'd compare them to?

A better version of Kentucky? haha

They have a solid OL, and prefer to run the ball. They have a great defense, however they haven't exactly been challenged this year (especially the way a dual threat like Milroe can challenge a defense).

Good team, how good is hard to get a great feel for because they really only played 1 other really good team and played a couple of teams with pretty good defenses (PSU, Iowa) but no offense.

They'll be tough and physical and I'm sure they are well coached. We will present challenges on both sides of the ball that they haven't seen yet (especially on offense). I don't think they are going to present anything we haven't seen yet (doesn't mean they aren't good at what they do).

I don't think much of them.
They are a .5 favorite right now. They opened at 1.5.

Haven't watched them that much, but they seem sort of unathletic to compete at the playoff level.

Supposedly their defense is outstanding.

I think they are a pretty good team, but how good is hard to know considering they played one team (OSU) all year that had a legitimate shot to beat them. Penn State were frauds, as always, and the rest of the B1G was absolutely atrocious this year. Especially on offense. Historically bad for a major conference. They remind me of a good Les Miles era LSU team that's just going to keep running right at you until someone breaks.

Ironically enough, I think this was the best match-up Bama could have gotten.

I think either them or Washington. Certainly not Texas.

Playing Sark coming off a month of prep sounds like a nightmare, and they've got dudes on the LOS on both sides that are a menace.

I wouldn't say they're a Dollar Store 2008-09 Bama, maybe a Target verson?

Agreed. UW has some good receivers, but I don't think they have faced DBs like ours. And their OL definitely hasn't faced a DL like ours.

I'm hoping (if we beat UM) that Sark is so focused on beating UW that he doesn't have a ton of time to get creative if we end up playing them...

Paper tiger. Pushed around the likes of Rutgers, Purdue and Iowa. 14+ win for the Tide.

I think they have a good team. Very physical but it's hard to get a real feel for how good they are because so many of the teams they faced are cream puffs.

Bama SHOULD win but they can't just show up like they did vs Auburn and assume Michigan is going to roll over.

Tough game. This Bama team while improved is not what the juggernauts of the pre 2020s are. Think they’ll get there next year but I expect a really close game. McCarthy is super athletic and if he’s hot he’ll be trouble but if he’s off Bama should be fine. Hopefully our DL shows up because Michigans OL is not as good as years past.

I like Alabama's chances. I can see the young players getting even better by game time. But Michigan has tried and failed a few times in the playoffs. Maybe it is their time? I hope not. Roll Tide.

You're the first person I've seen say this about their QB. Super athletic? Hard to agree with that, especially after Bama played Daniels and LSU this year. Good lines on both sides, but better than Texas? I don't believe so.

Comitting to stopping the run and making their QB and receivers beat the Bama secondary sounds like a very favorable matchup for the Tide.

Too slow. Well coached but they're Georgia minus the athletes.

On offense, QB has decent wheels but nothing special. Average weapons. Loveland reminds me of Slade Bolden. Couple of Sunday players on the O line is as big and that about it.

Defense, if ever Milroe was going to gash somebody with the read option, this is the team. The last time they saw anything close to actual team speed, TCU gave them 50 and they couldn't get Max Duggan on the ground. LBs are bulky. Secondary is the weakest unit. We'll be able to get Bond and Burton behind them.

They'll need the game plan of a lifetime just to keep it close and even then, I don't see it.

I think Rees releases the Kraken on Michigan. Milroe will do Milroe things in Milroe places.
