Yes but there’s a difference in critiquing and bash and saying a player sucks.

That’s basically what I said

But also some of you take any serious criticisms as bashing

I’m not talking to you in particular I’m talking about some of these posters on here. You seem very knowledgeable. Some of these guys are being obnoxious and unrealistic in their criticism of Milroe.

It’s good when we get emotional about our team, but man a few of us are over the top .

Coaching and playing college football is a tough job. It’s not as easy as us armchair qb thinks. Try to enjoy the game— even if things don’t go our way. Just my two cents.

We have a young backup qb being qb1 for the first time. Has he made a few mistakes yes but he has not played horribly. Football is not an easy to play and it is moving so fast while you’re in the game. I will root for every player wearing the crimson and white whether they’re playing well or not. You all who are bashing milroe aren’t true fans and we don’t need fans who trash our guys.

Bama fans are a bunch of front-running, office shite-talking spoiled bitches that don't deserve Saban and will run him off soon.

All week the media shat on Jimbo and talked up Alabama and I knew this would be another really tough game. Anyone that thought we'd blast them, isn't paying attention to modern college football. UGA would have lost to Mizzou without some terrible calls against Mizzou but their fans didn't melt that bad.

Damn, Saint, you have completely gone full player apologist. These kids want to be paid, they have to take their lumps.

No, I haven't.

We could have schemed a game plan to maximize Milroe's talent and minimize his weakness and we didn't.

That's not on a teenager. It's on our OC.

I don't remember Gmac getting hammered this hard post game when Saban took him out against SC and just ran the wildcat through Mark Ingram.

Milroe isn't ready, that's fine. Our OC handled this horribly. We still got the win and Milroe gets xp under his belt, plus a lot of extra tape against a live defense. We only come out of this stronger from that alone.

Guys don’t be so hard on Milroe.

Look here is his post game statement when asked how he thought he did out there (this is a direct quote no joke btw)
“I thought I did well. We’re gonna speak on it as an offensive staff, see what I can improve on. But overall, I think it went really well. There’s always things to clean up, and I definitely think I have some things to clean up. But I’m excited we got the win and we had a great defensive performance. I’m just happy.”

Next year as long as everybody is healthy Bama will have Hurts, Tua, Mac and Bryce all starting in the NFL. QB expectations have changed since 09 Gmac.

Imo it’s pretty simple, criticizing how a guy plays is fair game, missing throws, turnovers etc. Everything else off limits.

Milroe didn't have a great game but BOB didn't help him much with his crappy play calling.

I don’t think people would be nearly as upset, especially with Milroe had he not turned the ball over 3 times and singlehandily kept A&M in the game

You’re right. Some of them have unrealistic goals. I remember two games from Gmac that were worse than Milroe last night. Against Texas and South Carolina in 09. He literally couldn’t complete a pass. Milroe turned the ball over but he still threw three td passes and kept drives alive with his arm and feet.

You’re comparing two completely different styles of Bama football. In 09 we had fullbacks, I formations, never dreamed of having a QB drafted in the first round. Nowadays everything is out of shotgun, no fullbacks and Bryce will make it 4 QBs from Bama starting NFL. Hurts drafted 2nd round, Tua 1st, Mac 1st and in 2023 Bryce 1st. Saying Bama would become a QB factory in 09 would’ve put u in the psych ward. That’s why ppl have “unrealistic goals” they haven’t been unrealistic recently.

The Bama fanbase is doing what Bama fanbases always do; showing how much we've been spoiled by success.
We expect to cruise in every game, and when the team has a bad game we are angry and over critical.

It's fear. Most anger is rooted in fear. In Bama fan's case, it's fear of mediocrity.

Na it’s 4 turnovers and the guy that did 3 of them ain’t real popular right now. Saban used to go insane on the sidelines for a lot less. Seems he is mellowing out lately

Milroe’s performance would have been ok with the exception of the fumbles. Those type of errors are almost inexcusable and shouldn’t happen.

Hard to even respond to something this dumb....If Milroe performance was ok to you, you know nothing about good QB play. It was some of the worst QB'ing I have ever seen. They could have pulled a high school QB out of the stands that could have thrown better.
