convincing a toxic person to stay on your team, is a lot like telling a dr to leave a lil bit of cancer in there.

See when I hear the term "soft" I think of kids like Carter. Kids who are immature, selfish and can't take correction. That's a soft, emotional man baby. Say what you will about his play but a kid like Ben Davis is a guy who has shown more to me as a young man than the Alfanos and Carters. Ben Davis will be a success off the field and the way he's carried himself at Bama is a testament to his being raised well.

I will say he looked like an All American on his sack against MSU Saturday . Showed a burst I hadn’t seen out of him

Surprised we didn't move him to TE and leave Latu at LB. Davis played TE in high school.

Damnit man this is terrible news. Thank you for the information though KC. I can’t believe Carter is bailing on us already. He’s in the best possible place to be prepared for the NFL.

I know nothing. My post wasn’t about Carter really. More about another freshman DB seeing a ton of time so far and making plays.

1 a year isn't bad, 3 top defensive players in 4 months is a huge problem.

At least we hung on to #1-ranked 5-star LB Ben Davis. Another huge drain of talent if he'd quit early because he couldn't win a starting job. It's truly devastating that Anoma or Alfano won't be around to take over for Davis next season.

Not bashing Ben Davis. Just making the point that talent alone, performing well against HS players is no guarantee those guys have what it takes to be big contributors early on a talented college team. At least Ben didn't quit.

Losing 2-3 guys from a recruiting class who are irresponsible quitters isn't a "huge problem." It's actually better if they quit early, instead of later.

Sure won't.

That was the type of logic that helped a lot of people sleep at night from 1983 to 2007.
