close to the season opener and Saban STILL refuses to name Tua as the guy

Naming a guy would only change perception outside the football complex, and it's only the things inside the football complex that matter regarding wins and losses.

Saban's got this. I'm sure of it.

Do you not hear yourselves?! Look....I'm all for the best player playing and if Tua is that best player than so be it, but this irrational hatred of Jalen after everything he has done for us is un-freaking-believable. Let's just throw aside a two-year starter and stomp on his face because he isn't as good as the fan favorite.

What has Jalen done for us though? Every QB at Alabama under Saban has had a sensational record when the other 21 starters you’re playing with are Saban’s 5-Stars.

It’s only about National Championships at Alabama. Hurts will have a winning record, but he’s not as good as others we’ve had. Tua is better than all other QBs we’ve had, and can be as good or better than McCarron.

Here’s what it takes to win a Natty as a QB at Bama under Saban...

Be great..
AJ McCarron: win 2 Natty’s, and a kick6 away from a 3rd.

Be average..
Greg McElroy: win 1 Natty.
Jake Coker: win 1 Natty.

Don’t be very good, but let Saban’s recruits carry you farther than you would have ever gone anywhere else..
John Parker Wilson: lose in SEC Title Game
Jalen Hurts: lose in 2 Natty’s, and really not look good in any playoff game, even the ones where the team wins.

Tua will fall on the ‘Be Great’ category, already winning 1 title with 2-3 years left to go. Hurts didn’t do anything for these teams besides handcuff the offense and make us 1-dimensional, while the Minkah Fitzpatricks, Jonathan Allen’s, Daron Payne’s, and Damien Harris’s of the world made Hurts record better than it should have been.

The offense of the 2nd half, that won the NC was very good. The offense of the 1st half, that could barely move the ball, let alone score, was horrible. The same OC coached both halves.

I didn't think it was possible, but after all these threads and post by CAbamafan, John Milner, and Commander Data, I'm slighty rooting for Saban to name Jalen the starter now. Mainly just to see how many Jalen hate thread/post they would produce. I think they might crash the site .

Not sure why you want to defend that guy. He was garbage.

Was 2016 really that long ago? He came close to passing for 3,000 yards and rushing for 1,000 yards that season. He also got us the go ahead touchdown on a spectacular run in the national championship game which, had that lead held, would have made him a legend.

He was also 1st Team All-SEC and SEC Offensive Player of the Year in 2016, something no other Saban-coached QB (not even AJ McCarron) can claim to have done.

Yeah, it's true that he has regressed and yeah, it's probably even truer that Tua will pass him over for the starting job. Be that as it may however, I will continue to defend this kid because he has been a good team player for us.

Don't go slightly. Go all the way. It's ok for you to be a Jalen fan. Personally, I'm an Alabama fan.

Huh? This doesn't make any sense. If you were an Alabama fan you would support every player on the team and hope that were the best they possibly could be even if you believe they shouldn't start. Secondly I'm a fan of observing your continued displeasure displayed through message board post, this has nothing to do with Jalen.

ETA: I would kind of be excited to see if he named Deionte Thompson the starting QB to see what you guys would do.

An Alabama fan will want the team to be the best it can be, and we can't be that with him at qb. That aside, now Jalen has said that he's representing himself and his family. Said he's built himself a brand. That isn't team oriented. His little speech was all about Jalen, and none about team. So no. I am not a Jalen Hurts fan anymore.

Too bad, you are rooting against Alabama.

ETA: By the way, just rereading your responses to my post it is pretty clear you have an unhealthy obsession with Jalen. It is kind of strange.

Hey guys, don't get your butt in a knot. Nothing I, nor anyone else can do that will make a frog turds worth of difference about who does or who doesn't get the most reps in practice.

Garbage my arse. He performed miracles with a run first because I can't throw for shite quarterback. He wanted Tua all along.

I am rooting for Jalen just in the hope that CAbamachickenlittle will lose his mind.

According to him, the world will literally end if Tua does not start.

I fall out of my chair laughing and love it when people dis our 2 latest offensive coordinators, Kiffin & Daboll, for not having an offense that met their expectations. What did you expect those OCs to do? Hurts can’t throw a football. They were limited in how creative they could get.
