Payne and Hand both had a great day.

Evans had a solid day outside of his low vertical jump.

Back to the Ridley thing, there's always the possibility that he just had a bad day for some undisclosed reason. Just last year Dalvin Cook had an awful combine after showing great athleticism on tape. He was looking like a roty candidate and future all-pro before his injury. These combine measurements aren't the end all be all.

In his defense, it was Tony Brown he had a scuffle with. I’m sure if TB signed with LSU, we would be begging Calvin to kick his arse.

Only 2 things I can see would keep Ridley pit of the first round is an injury or some character issue we don't know about.

He could not do a thing in drills and still likely be the first receiver off the board

It’s not a strong WR class either. He’s most definitely a first round guy.

His age has a lot of people wary. He is 23, he was already 20 as a freshman. He was basically a junior in college, as a true freshman. That's several years of extra physical development before starting to play in college.

So while is obviously a very talented player, it still begs the question of how much of his production was talent, and how much was him simply being more physically developed than competitors. At 23, a guy that talented is typically about to finish up his rookie NFL contract already, not just now entering the league.

At 23, can he get any better, or has he already peaked? Is there any room left for development? If not, then he probably won't be a great pro, honestly.

It also should give teams pause that at 23 years old, he was still being so public and obvious about his displeasure with Hurts. Does he have discipline, attitude, and anger issues? He acted like a 14 year old multiple times this past year while on the field, and he should be more than mature enough to know better by now.

Yeah that's the only problem I had with Ridley ..Needs to grow up some still. Meanwhile we have some who want a 2nd rate grad transfer to be our backup QB. I'm sure he's a good kid and bright but him not lighting it up at ecu doesn't exactly inspire confidence from me.

People need to realize that Hurts is the backup. The way I read it, the ECU guy is only coming here to get into coaching and just to be a number in the QB room. If he wants to get into coaching, then Bama is about the best place for him.

There is always an excuse for our WR instead of holding them accountable. But every other position is up for grabs when they screw up. He has an attitude problem, its shown itself several times. Not to mention after the Auburn game when he got called out. I hope the best for him, truly, but to ignore his attitude and blame it ALL on Jalen is stupid.

Speaking of Tony Brown, ran a 4.35

5th best time in the combine.

Averett 4.36
Levi 4.48

I think Averett put himself solidly in the 2nd round today

For being a 4.35 guy, Tony Brown sure did get burned a lot

I don't think he's technically sound in man-to-man. I think he'd be a bad arse as a zone corner though

He's stiff hipped, which can let people by him.

He's much better with the play in front of him, except for some weak tackle attempts he had this past season.

Tony Brown needs to be bulk up and try to be a run stopping safety. If Tony was a little bigger he could be a LBer. But, coverage skills? Nah.

He kept dropping weight for track every year. He could easily blow up 15 lbs with his diet and work ethic. Probably more while maintaining a 4.4 40.

I always thought the same but he put up solid times in the agility drills. Makes me wonder if it's more of a recognition problem than an athletic limitation.

Can't put your speed and quickness to full use if you're too slow to read and react.

Somehow Levi wallace's unofficial 4.48 went to 4.63 officially. That's pretty weird

I saw that. I didn't see his 2nd run but I saw his first.

Looked fast to me. Looks fast on the field too

His second run's unofficial time was 4.63. So it seems they went with that 1. Which seems odd. I wonder if he started too quickly or something in his first run, and they couldn't count it. Or some other silly technical thing.
