I’ve always thought he was extremely under utilized & think he will have a great combine showing as well. Hopefully he can stay healthy.

14 catches! That's a damn shame.

14 catches was the 2nd most on the team by a WR. How many were jet sweeps? Over/under 7.

I was a Hurts apologist for a long time. It was amazing and sad to see that Sims and Foster had hands as soon as Tua got in the game. They both seem to lack the ability to adjust to Hurts inaccurate passes.

The past two years we might have had the best GROUP of WR's ever at Bama. But, it was really hard to tell due to circumstances beyond their control.

Hurts wasn't Foster's only problem.

Nope but it was his biggest problem.

Definitely so. You don't think his attitude and running whatever route he wanted had anything to do with knowing that he'll probably never get the damn ball anyway?

It's easy to get out of sorts mentally and get off the rails when you are functionally removed from the game and have a QB that will only pass the ball to one person. Hell, 5 of his 14 receptions this year were thrown by Tua.

Crazy that Bo had the second most receptions with 17 for 109 yards. That's shockingly poor distribution of the ball.

Was watching Tua highlights the other day on YouTube. All our WR made plays when Tua was in.......Tua wasn't perfect on all his passes but he could put it where they could make a play.

I mean, he was underwhelming from 2013-2015 too. I know that he dealt with injuries, but he also had well-documented attitude problems. The guy was a 5 star number 1 WR out of high school, but never performed close to that.

You may be right, but that's not what I heard.

I heard he was often in "the doghouse" for blowing his assignments, or running the wrong routes.

He possibly had some deficiencies between the ears.

Only time I heard of any attitude related issues was over playing time during the kiff era. Supposedly kiff flat out refused to play foster because he did not trust him to execute his assignments. Story goes one of those blown assignments (or maybe it was a fumble) cost kiff an arse chewing, and foster was never seen again under kiff.

Robert Foster has attitude issues yet he stays at Bama for 5 years? Doesn't add up. If Foster had attitude issues I'm sure Saban would've showed him the door. It's not like there weren't underclassmen at WR who weren't good who could've been inserted.

The bottom line is Foster looked good when he had a competent QB in Coker and Tua. Hurts hurt Foster and the entire WR corp and the offense overall.

Foster caught like two passes from Tua and one was a screen what are y'all even talking about.

Also, I'm just gonna treat this as the general combine thread. Scarbrough lit it up (4.52, 40 vert, 10'9" broad). Where was that explosiveness on the field?

Freakish measurements doesn’t always equal to performance on the field. Plenty of NFL combine monsters flop out of the NFL after just a few years.

I still don't understand why they don't do all of the combine activities with full pads on. Who cares what they do in spandex.

It's convenient how people make excuses for a guy not living up to the hype. I'm glad he stuck it out but the constant harping on hurts gets old and it's excusing the drops , fumbles, and poor effort that foster showed alot.

Really? It takes a lot for someone to show someone the door for multiple DUIs, much less attitude problems.

He looked okay. Couldn't get on the field when Sims was our QB, even with subpar depth in 2014.
