This is next hurdle for CFB. Harbaugh has been calling for it, now Bjork in his press conference at OhioSt brought it up.

Bama may not have the NiL budgets some schools have, but revenue is a different story. Bama has been top 3 in revenue for the last 15 years, I don't see any way that changes much.

This will truly separate the haves/have-nots. It's also why TV contracts and being a part of the super conferences is so important.

I also believe this will create more structure. Contracts with players requiring them to stay
..etc. A percentage cap would be nice too. That would mean you have a set budget every year, and have to spread it out. Can't give it all to 5 or 6 players and forsake everything else.

I really hope people see what’s happening and after they get done pointing and laughing, they come to the realization that rules that result in entire rosters being blown up while the team can’t add players is a nightmare for everyone involved.

Absolutely they should get a share of what money their programs bring in

I would rather revenue sharing and actual regulation than this wild wild west bullshite fans have to fund from their private businesses while the universities and broadcast networks still get rich

Schools are going to have to work out a way to very miserly fund non revenue sports and put all the investment into facilities and labor in the revenue sports.

That’s their problem to solve not mine but they’re damn sure going to have to figure it out.

SEC will have to share its revenue with players in other conferences. There is no other way around this

*I read your post wrong sorry. Youre still correct though but I think football has to separate

Big assumption here as no one really knows.

Revenue sharing I doubt happens. You think these players are greedy now wait until you tell them they are also responsible for losses. Unless you are actually meaning profit sharing which the colleges would more go for.

Now you are talking about employment which will kill CFB and probably the majority of male Olympic sports on campus.

Need to remember any university(which is all of them in the country private or public) that receives federal money even just for research has to follow Title 9 for their employees. Meaning every program if athletes become employees will have a to give a specific amount to every female athlete as well.

So basically any non profit generating sport that a college has for men will probably be gone to cover the cost of the female athletes who probably generate no profit.

Exactly. Not every kid deserves a trophy not every kid deserves money for their sport. Tuition assistance room and board or you know what just having the title of college athlete carries it’s own benefits.

The problem is that there will always be NIL money.

most of those kids are getting less than half scholarships. If we take swimming and diving, 32 guys on our roster sharing 9.9 scholarships. 37 women splitting 14 scholarships. Average scholarship is 31% and 38%. The marching band is giving out more money

Congress will have to get involved unfortunately. The legal hurdles of judges destroying the structure of the sport is a major hurdle.

Half scholarship is better than no scholarship. Like I said if you’re on the tennis team or even the baseball team the benefit is being a college athlete especially with baseball

The noise coming out of Congress except from Tubs who is not exactly objective is absolutely in line with what the courts are doing.

There is no savior coming to bring back the way things used to be.
