It’s not snow and ice. Now THAT would be a disadvantage, especially players used to a warm climate. The state of Alabama experiences rain and windy conditions all throughout the year, it’s not a big deal.

We played terribly in bad conditions vs Michigan and FSU. When you're a finesse offense it's a disadvantage.

Two different situations

1. The Michigan game was Milroe is just a turnover machine anyway. Add rain and it was a nightmare.

2. The FSU game I was there. There was a point before the end of the 2nd where we got the ball and it immediately starting pouring. It rained on and off throughout, but that was a chance for us to take momentum back and we were DOA. You couldn’t see your hand in front of your face it was raining so hard. It sounds weird to say, but I swear it started raining harder when we had the ball that game several times.

The rain is going to be light to moderate and off and on. It’s not driving thunderstorm rain like we had vs USF, Michigan and Florida State

Maybe it will be as fun as The Washout in Athens about 10 years ago. That was an awesome rain game.

Can't imagine they have sustained gullywashers in Pasadena very often.

They sure have the last week or so, but pretty sure that is wildly rare.

This is expected to be the first wet Rose Bowl Parade since 2002 and the 2nd since like 1955.

Probably longer than you are old, boy. Remember back to FSU and Michigan?

Son, you're an idiot. I was in college at Bama when Krauss had that pick six in the frigid Liberty Bowl in 1976. We played in the first Sugar Bowl in the Superdome the year before that. How many domes were there before that? Hint...you can count them on one finger.

The notion that now we have to play playoff games indoors is moronic. Should we? Probably. Do we have to? Of course not.

Has there ever been rain for a Rose Bowl?

Weather always seems pristine come kickoff out there

I don’t think the rain isn’t really supposed to be a storm. Winds won’t be bad and it will all probably decrease late in the day plus, they say receivers have an advantage because they know where they are going. But as Rafa Nadal says, same for both.

Sorry boy. We're roughly the same age but you still squat to pee. so who's the idiot? Now go piddle on some newspaper( hopefully the Atlanta Constipation if you can find an old copy of that rag)

Its a huge advantage to play indoors this time of year.with so much on the line. Particularly with that grinding ground game we have.

I was just thinking the same thing. I wouldnt be surprised if this was the first

*For those going to Rose Bowl for first time...the actual Rose Bowl Stadium is a PAIN to get in and out of. Its literally in what seems like a natural bowl and IIRC there were limited ways to get in and out. Also...when I went in 09 the weather during day was great...but I did not dress properly for the game. It got cold at night

Periods of rain are likely during Thursday's Rose Bowl. Even some suggestion from models that some lightning/thunder will be possible during the game.

I see no evidence of any lightning delay in the history of the Rose Bowl. Lightning isn't especially likely this year, but not of the question.
