At this point people have taken sides and are not going to be persuaded one way or the other. We just need to stop talking about Jalen.

They were but he's hit and miss on that. Live by the big play, die when it's not there.

Did he have any turnovers against Auburn? No. You’re not making any sense.

...turnovers?

When did I say anything about turnovers?

Why do we have to continue to create multiple threads weekly just to praise Milroe and try to sway others to your side? And yes, the same can be said for the other side as well.

The board continues to amaze me.

I could care less if our quarterback had 20 touchdowns or 5, if it results in a more efficient offense and makes us less boom or bust I’m all for it

Fun fact - Michael Penix had 51 pass attempts in his last college game. Jalen Milroe has 52 attempts through 3 games.

Another fun fact - Michael Penix had 8 yards rushing in total last year. Jalen Milroe's last rushing attempt was 10 yards (for a TD).

Whether intended or not, you just summed up each player’s strength and weakness with these stats.

The intent was to show that DeBoer is tailoring the offense to the QB he's got.

In 2023 Penix averaged 37 passes and 2 rushes per game.

In 2024 Jalen Milroe is averaging 17 passes and 12 rushes per game.

If Ty Simpson started a game I'd assume he'd be in between.

Last year Washington ranked 131st in rushing attempts per game at 27. Alabama is averaging 41 per game this year.

Also keep in mind that Washington’s runningback was an undrafted guy that isn’t even on a an active roster. Now Deboer has 2 guys that could end up being 1st rounders

He was still really effective for Washington at 5.1 ypc but he was hardly the strength of the offense. If Washington could have gotten 9 yards a carry like we are, I bet they would have ran it more

Yes basically UW had only one good back last year and they rode him hard. I certainly agree that the 2024 Alabama offense should be a ground-heavy unit.

Yea just look at the overall makeup

Washington:
QB: Penix (1st round pocket passer)
RB: Johnson (undrafted)
WR: Odunze (1st round)
WR: Polk (2nd round)
WR: McMillan (3rd round)
TE: Culp (7th round)

Bama
QB: Milroe (Dual threat, no earthly idea about draft spot)
RB: Haynes (Day 1 or 2 Draft)
RB: Miller (Day 1 of 2 Draft)
WR: Williams (Future 1st rounder but young)
WR: Bernard (probably drafted)
WR: Law (late draft/UDFA)
TE: Dippre (probably UDFA)

Call the O lines a wash and acknowledge that ours is more talented. Overall, calling the same pass/run ratio with these two squads would be coaching malpractice

I was very happy with the full offensive plan against Wisconsin. They are still tinkering and trying to figure out which versions of the QB runs are splashers and which are more automatic 3-4 yarders, but I really like what we did with the run game and overall in that game.

I think we're going to start seeing a lot more misdirection in 2 weekends and moving forward. The QB power, counter, read play combined with the speed we have at WR and the inherent motion in this offense is just built to do some misdirect stuff with the way teams are going to be sprinting to a spot to stop the QB run.

You basically implied he was the reason we were in a tight game with auburn.

I agree. I believe he will catch Georgia off guard a few times with some pop passes from the quarterback power threat.

I can't objectively call the O lines a wash at this point, given that the UW group was a veteran, talented unit that won the Joe Moore award. Yes, this Alabama O-line is talented, but they have a lot more to prove to become anything like what the Huskies had. The Wisky game was a step in the right direction.

I’ve never seen the discourse around a QB on here like I’ve seen with Milroe. I was a long time lurker before officially joining and I’m trying to find a situation comparable. I guess Sims/Coker is maybe the closest.

Regardless, at least then you never had the feeling some were actually pulling against the team to prove a point. I think everyone is aware of the pros/cons of Milroe but some of the comments have been insane.
