Like SMU did last night?

If strength of schedule keeps Army out then it will keep SMU out as well.

Out unfortunately. Betting markets shifted in SMU’s favor in a big way this morning. Similar to what happened in our favor last year before they announced we were in the playoffs. I think somebody knows something.

AP Poll has Bama at #11, SMU at #12, Clemson at #13, and USCe at #14

I hate to say it but the AP coming out right before selection might have helped us.

We aren’t SMU. We are Alabama. I’m not saying we cant loose they lost in the conference championship game, we lost to a terrible team in a game we were three score favorites. Those two things are not the same.

You're assuming they use logic. The game last night gave them an easy out.
How? Explain it with facts and don't use your feelings or emotions.
SMU were down 21 points and came back. That is good on them. However they never dominated and didn't win.
The committee has been pretty consistent about how you win, as well as who you beat. People just try to fixate only on who you lost to and how many loses you have because it removes the teams they want out.
They have shown they don't prioritize their one-loss over two-loss rocky top, OSU and Georgia last rankings because those guys played a tougher SOS.
They have showed they don't prioritize two-loss Miami who they think is better than SMU over a three-loss Alabama because we played a tougher SOS.
So in what world does SMU lose a game to Clemson after being down 21 points in a blowout and that makes them only drop two spots?
That isn't the precedent the committee set.
I'm waiting on you to provide facts and other things the committee has done to support what you're saying. If it's just what you feel and your emotions.. save that

So the five highest ranked conference champions auto bid…. Can ND being independent count as a conference and we all agree to leave Clemson out?

My brother we have been in since the committee showed us a two-loss Miami (they see as better than SMU) is less than a three-loss Alabama.

Out, cause you get less spot consideration and people advocating for you the lower you are in the new playoff rankings and we could have easily cemented our playoff presence by taking care of business in the regular season.

So hard to tell. I have no faith in the committee to do the right thing. Hopefully the AP poll will have some influence.
I’m still thinking we are out.

Out. Unless ESPN’s money talks loud enough. The whole country would salivate over a Bama vs ND matchup on frozen tundra in South Bend. Nobody gives a tinkers damn to see SMU get boat raced in South Bend.

Alabama vs Notre Dame in South Bend in a couple weeks would been major ratings to tv

I think we'll be in based on resume, and the media will stoke the flames for ratings. But, if we're out it's hard to complain too much.

Yep. We made our own bed. Now we have to lay in it.

If you put a gun to my head, out. I would not be surprised though to be pleasantly surprised.
