49ers

Lies. With our 4 picks we drafted 2 players with injury/health histories, 2 players who didn't play last year, a FCS QB who we have no idea when he will be ready to take a starting job and a guard all while losing our first round picks for the next 2 years. Smh I hope this is one of those drafts that looks better 5 years from now .

I'd have tried to make it work with Garoppolo for another year if they didn't like Mac or Fields. Lance just doesn't do it for me. He's basically FCS Tebow with less of a resumé.

Notre Dame had 5 players drafted in the 2 or 3 round. Maybe that team we whipped was pretty good

ND was night and day better in the trenches in 2020 than they were in 2012. All their talent is at TE or on the OL and defensive front 7. Their secondary and outside skill guys are still terrible.

I mean the reality is they liked Lance that much. They knew who they were taking the whole time. You don't trade 2 first rounders to move up to 3 and not know who you are taking the whole time. They believe Lance is the guy. I am extremely skeptical but I at least know that Shanahan seems to make it work with every QB he has had so there is that. He has physical tools and TideorDie87 likes Lance so may be there is something there I can't see, but in my mind this is a huge roll of the dice more so than Mac or Fields. Hopefully he will be Josh Allen or the old Carson Wentz in a few years just doesn't do for me. People are saying he is perfect for what Shanahan runs and I just don't see it unless he has been modifying things for immobile QBs. Still the reality is the 9ers put anyone in a bad position with how much they gave up for that pick. I've said it before this QBs this year all have big questions and not a single player in this draft is worth what the Niners gave up for that pick.

And the thing is they didn't even need to move up if Lance was always the guy they wanted. He almost certainly would have been there at 12. Reminds me of the Giants trading up to get Jones when they could probably have just stayed put and gotten him at their original draft slot.

But But ESPN says he tested higher than anybody and is the smartest QB in the group....they can't help themselves kissing the arse of Fields and Lance...imagine that.

You never know what people's boards look like and who would have traded up. I do believe other teams were looking at Lance unlike Jones where it felt like the only team that wanted him that high was the Giants. I am more shocked that so many people are confident he is a franchise NFL QB based on what is available on him. His workouts have to be epic .

Wonder if Moses got some bad grades during his medical evaluations. Pretty surprised he hasn't been picked yet.

I’m surprised Deonte Brown hasn’t gone yet.

I was kind of guessing if Mack went in the 5th then that is probably where Moses would fall to.

ETA: Not that many guards have come off the board so far. It looks to be about six so far which I think Deonte is in that 7-10 range do hopefully his number comes soon.

Deonte not going in 3rd or 4th just proves how dumb NFL teams can be. So many of these teams overthink the draft. I know Guard is not a value position, but they’re taking shots on FCS linebackers in the 3rd round. Meanwhile you’ve got a guy like cornbread who, after watching him for three years is obviously an NFL starter at guard. He’s got the size, strength, mentality. He’s proven it against other NFL caliber players on a consistent basis. As long as he keeps his body under control and doesn’t get hurt he’s a lock to be a league-average starter for years. Sure he may not be a pro bowler. But teams should be racing to the podium to get a starter, at any non special teams position, in the third or fourth round.

I love Dylan. Great kid, leader and ambassador for the program but anyone who watches/ watched his tape this year can see he didn’t have a great year . Don’t know if he wasn’t fully healed yet and wanted to get tape out to scouts or he is just uncomfortable in the middle or what. IMO somebody can take him and put him at OLB and once healed he could be a player . Hell of an athlete . Hoping the best for him

He was hurt most of last year, but decided to still play. You can clearly see after the Missouri game he was off, then I was told by a sauce he was hurt again, then the last two games of the year he said screw it and put it all on the line. I respect the crap out of him for that just like Waddle.

What hurts Brown is that he's such a specialized scheme guard.

Teams go for collegiate tackles that they can kick inside and still have a little more athleticism compared to a 360 pound collegiate guard.

Cornbread should have used his extra year of eligibility. He could have dropped 30 lbs and been a quicker version of himself that would have been a first or second round pick. Ah well.
