You can't critique others without posting your own. Will Bama grab the first round record? Tie it?

I think 4 first rounders is a lock (Jones, Waddle, Smith and Surtain). Harris is a RB. If Derrick Henry can slide to the 2nd round, any RB can, but most mocks have Harris in the first round. That's 5. Now it gets tricky. We need Barmore or Leatherwood to be that sixth first rounder to tie Miami. We'd need both to break the record outright.

So here are my guesses... knowing it's pretty impossible to actually get slot/team both right with trades and all.

3. Jones to San Francisco (if they go a different route, Denver and New England come into play)

9. Smith to Miami (I have Miami trading back 3 slots with Denver)

10. Surtain to Dallas

11. Waddle to New York Giants

18. Harris to Miami (Pittsburgh at 24 is a popular spot for him in most mocks)

31. Leatherwood to Baltimore

32. Barmore to Tampa Bay

Obviously an optimistic projection. I could flip Smith and Waddle...I'd just like to see the 2nd and 26 duo reunite. I'm assuming Pitts and Chase go at 4 and 5 in this scenario.

I feel good about us having 5. But after that, I'm less certain. 7 would be awesome. Not just for bragging rights, but for the guy's career.

Harris is tough to peg. He'd have been top 10 a decade ago. Now, it's tough to say. But I wouldn't say "if Henry can slide to the 2nd round, any rb can." And obviously nothing against Henry, his dominance, or potential. But Henry has been fighting the idea that he was too tall/big to play running back, since high school. Coaches have tried convincing him to play de or te since forever. And if you remember, early in his career, Henry could be tripped up. It was actually a better strategy than hitting him head on. And when he was young in college, that's what teams did. But he learned how to stay on his feet, and run mean.

He ended up with a similar problem early in his NFL career. It wasn't looking good early on. I even remember an article about Eddie George trying to mentor him, and help him become a powerful runner. To get him to play meaner. And sure enough, he did, and is an absolute monster.

But I understand why Henry went in the second, even though he was incredible in college. Najee has a perfect rb body, with a much lower center of gravity then Henry. Henry would've been first round years ago. But with his high center of gravity and position devaluation, it makes more sense than Najee dropping, regardless of awards and stats.

Harris: “…an elite running back with a rare combination of power, quickness and speed, is ruthlessly efficient on the football field. Whether he is running over defenders, zooming past them or cutting his way through NFL defenses, he is a force to be reckoned with… much like the Marvel’s “Day Walker,” BLADE, who uses his own brand of power, speed and super human abilities to battle the evil forces of the night.”

quote:

Smith: “…is a ‘deadly’ force to opposing defenses. Also known as ‘The Slim Reaper’ by his teammates, he is an acrobatic, explosively quick phenom on the football field, overcoming much larger opponents with ease… like a certain Marvel fan-favorite. We chose this #1 issue cover homage to showcase DeVonta as he prepares to enter into the NFL.”

I feel like he fits today's game even better. He's a legit receiver out of the backfield.

These will end up being very wrong most likely, but here goes

3. Jones to SF
7. Smith to Detroit
9. Surtain to Denver
11. Waddle to NYG
24. Najee to Pittsburgh
25. Barmore to Jacksonville
31. Leatherwood to Ravens

I don’t keep up with the draft much, so feel free to tear these apart.

I hope Mac goes anywhere but SF. Their fans have been so toxic towards him on twitter. So I hope who they get is a bust and Mac balls out

I couldn't care less about their fans. I hope he gets drafted by the 49ers because there isn't anywhere else that gives him the same chance of success as the 49ers do in the entire NFL.

The Pats maybe, but yeah I'd agree with that. Shanahan made Matt Ryan an MVP and Mac is a similar kind of QB. People will bitch and moan about it to no end when he's picked, but if he's successful that'll all be gone by October.

I would have agreed with this if it weren't for last year. The only real evidence that supported the Pats as QB friendly was the amount of success Brady had there and with the way Brady looked in Tampa and Newton looked in NE, I have to think that SF is probably the best spot for Jones. I still think NE would be a solid landing spot though.

My official prediction is The 49ers cower to the Social Media mob that obviously hasn’t watched 1 second of Mac Jones and they take Trey Lance.

Washington trades up into the 10-15 range and takes Mac

If there is one thing I’ve learned with the draft, the QB’s that get the most hate tend to have the best careers.

You believe Kyle Shanahan is going to pick Trey Lance because of the opinions of people on twitter?

My impression of what happened with Cam in New England is that he was forced into a system that requires a QB who processes a lot of information rapidly and consistently makes the best decision out of half a dozen options, despite him being much more of a reactionary improviser. Basically they tried to make him Brady even though he never has been nor ever will be that style of QB. Mac theoretically can be though. Not in terms of success, but just in terms of being able to execute an offense that puts a lot of demands on a QB in terms of decision making as opposed to improvisation.

Please dear God no. Most of our guys who have had the misfortune of going to that inept joke of a franchise have at least played defense where they can shine individually on a clusterfrick of a team.

On one side you have the All American Heisman finalist who lead his team to an undefeated NC while setting multiple NCAA records.

On the other side you have a QB that's played 1 game in nearly 2 years... against Central Arkansas...and he looked bad.

49er fans on twitter are duuuuuumb. The 49ers are loaded, but Denver or New England wouldn't be bad spots. Rumors have New Orleans trying to move into the top 10...for what player, who knows.

Washington isn't a bad team right now. I'm more worried about the turf than the team if he ends up in Washington.

Based on what? Being the tallest midget in one of the worst divisions in NFL history? Rivera is a good coach and they have a really good defense, but unless Snyder decides to become more hands off as an owner they'll continue to be the poster child for franchise dysfunction.

Based on what you said. They have a good coach and a good defense. Right now they are the best of the dysfunctional franchises, of which there are many. Winning your division is still a good accomplishment, even if the division sucks. Ask the patriots.
