Yeah what I meant was I know Gordon was a huge part of sitting in these meetings with Lane about addressing needs and what does he need monetarily. They are playing the game in a way Bama either can’t or is unwilling to do.

Interesting tidbit about Miami. Looks like they'll have plenty of money to spend this offseason:

Bingo

Try and get the players we have playing at 110% as often as possible. We're failing at that right now.

That is not money to spend on the roster.

A college can only directly pay athletes a max I believe for the next season 21 million up from 20.5 million. There is no cap on NIL money from third parties, but Miami can make 100 million as a program from the playoffs and they are still capped like everyone else.

Disagree completely. An edge rusher who can get you ten sacks per season (or more) is worth big $$$. Currently, we have Pierre who is pretty good but definitely not great either.

Not saying he won’t be great, but he has had 1.5 sacks across two seasons

How does anyone know what other teams spend on NIL? There are probably 3 texas teams that can outspend us. Michigan has 6 or 7 Billionaires involved with them. The only way I know that is one of them stated it in the press. But how do you know? You can just see it when it comes down to us and another school and we quit recruiting, its obvious what is going on.

I assume the courts as that was settled in the courts with the agreement of the House. This has nothing to with the NCAA or a clearinghouse.

Last I checked Byrne was hat in hand begging fans whom got angry at him for daring to try. We have fans on here who mock the idea of giving but have demands for the team they need on their own lives lol.

People who don't play or pay really have no place to gripe about the team. When you hold no skin in the game, you're just a hanger-on.

Just entered the portal. This WR should help keep fans in the stadium.

Yeah Qua was more impacful.

With this current climate projection means nothing outside of what these players can output the immediate next season.

Outside of that means absolutely nothing.

If they do too well they can exploit it for a big payday somewhere else the next season. If they don't then we wasted resources on a bust

There is no clearing house any more. Three schools suck as Texas Tech and o think Indiana refused to sign so the agreement that the other schools signed off on is null and void. Heard that from a lawyer on radio.

Incorrect as the House Settlement included a third-party clearinghouse that had to approve all NIL deals. It is called NIL GO

quote:

A three-page memo distributed to schools provides further clarity regarding Deloitte’s role as the approved clearinghouse for name, image, and likeness (NIL) deals, as outlined in the House settlement and guidance documents. Deloitte’s NIL clearinghouse and review platform will be known as “NIL Go.”

Either way irrelevant to the Miami post. The courts have made it clear schools can only pay athletes via revenue sharing which is capped. Whatever Miami earns cannot go over that cap. The new clearinghouse system only applies to NIL third party deals.
