I am NOT a DeBoer apologist but am also realistic about a coaching change and how problematic it can be at this point however if he doesn’t change and hire a great OL coach it is going to be a long season next year and he will have signed his own death warrant at Alabama.

We are losing a lot and because our offense was trash we didnt get the backup loads of playing time. I dont have much confidence in this coming years team.

Brailsford could do a lot for himself by staying another year, would be in early Rimington talks. Wouldn’t blame him if he went though.

Based on what I saw from KD at UW Brailsford is the prototype for what they want at IOL: quick, smart, good hands and maybe a little undersized but reliable.
We didn’t have anyone else who fit that profile this year and if we don’t find some guys who do in the portal I’m not exaggerating when I say our OL could be worse next year which is kind of incredible given that statistically we were one of the worst groups in all of P4 this year based on a number of different metrics.
The good news is there are a lot of guys from smaller schools who fit that profile (aka non NFL prototype) and are relatively inexpensive so in theory we could bring in 3-4 guys to compete and be in a completely different spot come spring practice.

None of them going in the top two rounds. Hubbard may be the best and he will never be a starter in the nfl. He can't make open field tackles

Biggest immediate needs for next year are OL, TE, RB, off-ball LB, and DL.
Some of those may be addressed through HS talent, but I think we need to add some portal DL and OL.

Biggest thing we have to do is get rid of Grubb. If he keeps Grubb nothing matters.
