I think he recruited pretty well at Fresno. Here's his bio: LINK

Not sure how I feel about this. Atlanta's O-line was hot garbage last year. Granted, he didn't exactly have a lot of talent to work with. A couple of the starters may not have gotten on the field for Arizona.

This is why. Oh and having a obese RB didn't help.

They didn't open any holes for Rodgers or Snelling either.

The pass blocking was better. He did made Sackmaker Baker into a halfway serviceable LT. By halfway serviceable I just mean he didn't give up any Theismannesque injuries this season. He was still horrible.

He has a good reputation though, so we shall see. He probably still has a lot of recruiting ties to California too.

It reminds me of the Cam Cameron hire for LSU. As a Ravens fan, I hated Cam's playcalling and was glad that he was fired. I wish they would have gotten a younger, hungrier coach. However, it could also end up working out as well as the Joe Pendry hire did. Before he came to Bama, Joe Pendry was the Texans offensive line coach when their offensive line was getting David Carr sacked 60+ times a year. He turned out to be a great hire for us.

Really like Hill, was a fun guy to watch while at Fresno.
Too bad he will not be able to give interviews.

Don't know about his qualifications as OL coach, but hopefully his tough spirited attitude will carry over to the OL.

anytime you can hire a former HC has to be good for the process, unless they sucked or tanked like Dooley, and he would still be a good hire for a position coach

Man what an awesome hire!! Saban never ceases to amaze me with these kind of hires and he was always known as a phenomenal motivator in the valley and I'm sure that won't stop at Bama. His numerous recruiting ties in the Cali area cannot be overlookedas well. Pat ALWAYS had a physical OL at Fresno St and a power run game to boot so I'm super excited!!
