The offseason is winding down and we're almost ready for football, but I thought I'd start a thread detailing who we once thought we be great but never reached our expectations.

I'll start with Saleem Rasheed.

I thought he was on the way to super stardom after his Freshman year, but he never did.

For a recruit I submit Devonta Bolton from the Class of 2008.

I was damn sure he was going to be special and he never played a down for us.

Who you got?

I was convinced Nick Fanuzzi was gonna lead Bama back to prominence, so naturally I bought his actual worn jersey in 2008.

It's gonna be worth millions...

BJ Scott was the chosen one. I thought he had a higher ceiling than Julio. What a freaking fool

Chris Keys.

A top 100 recruit in the Shula era was a rare thing.

Jury still out on Trey Sanders

This. I can't think of more hype that equated to more of a nothing burger in Bama history.

Can I just say that Billy Ray, made me laugh when I was a kid, and i prayed that he would be successful. I mean, his name was awesome

He had the IT with the name. Lol
He transferred over to Duke. Did well. Won an ACC title under Spurrier.

You’re gonna get a lot of BJ Scott in this thread. Only time I ever remember seeing him on the field was a screen pass yardage loss against Clemson in 2008.
