But it's obvious you guys have all the answers and have all this under control, and the US and Alabama have made no mistakes and are always right, perfect, and infallible. No municipality has ever done anything better than the US in any capacity, and any insinuation that they did is either farcical nonsense or a boldface lie.

No one said any of this

I'll leave you to it as I can add nothing of merit in the face of the above, and the last #$&&*%#@$%ing thing I want to do is argue.

Good luck to you all.

No one on here that I can recall has said the US, the states, or local municipality has done everything right. But the issue I think some here have with your comments is that you like to point how bad the US response is and you have pointed that out as a country as well. Then compared it to the third world country you live in like it is the greatest thing on Earth and that your country is so much better then the US.

The facts are facts as your country did not respond any faster and as corrupt as your country is who knows who they are testing if any.

You say you have contained but yet this from yesterday in CR:

quote:

The Health Ministry is launching an investigation after a man presenting at a public clinic with fever and breathing difficulties was denied a test for COVID-19.

quote:

The man later tested positive at a private medical center, according to a complaint filed by a family member.

quote:

“My dad is now in intensive care,” Amanda Mesén, the man’s daughter, told Delfino.cr. “He is intubated, and he is unconscious and he has a condition that he is unlikely to survive.”

The info you post to validate your opinion is not true. What was it you said about how they take care of their employees and would never layoff or fire them?

quote:

Some 100,000 restaurant workers in Costa Rica have lost their jobs after the closure of more than 40% of the establishments in the sector, a result of the crisis caused by the novel coronavirus.

quote:

“The majority of these businesses, 88.24%, are micro, small and medium-sized companies, which cry out to the government for more, better and prompt actions to avoid having to fire employees,”

I am confused as I thought you talked about they would provide for those they fire.

quote:

This week, the Costa Rican government is presenting a plan before the Legislative Assembly that would allocate 225 billion colones (about $390 million) to support 375,000 families through financial contributions over the next three months.

And regards to your border police, preventing people from entering the country. I guess that excludes the essential services of the drug cartels, human traffickers, and slave traders.

In the end I hope everyone from around the world recovers from this and we are able to eradicate this and hopefully in the future be better prepared. But I live in the US and believe in its ability to accomplish what needs to get done. I have faith and just because you do not well I am glad you found your place of comfort elsewhere.

Same. I actually half arse defended him when I noticed some would downvote or attack him no matter what he said. Now I know why. If there is a more obnoxious, insufferable poster on the entire SEC rants, much less the Bama board, I have yet to encounter them.

Question for anyone that may know.

What would be included in a shelter in place order that is not already in place?

So unless there's a late night surge of confirmed cases, today was by far the 2nd largest increase.

I think it gives them more power to enforce it.

Everyday I’m hoping to see a positive sign, and we just aren’t there yet.

Between 155-165 new cases today. Can't find the exact number that yesterday ended on.

I think we ended yesterday on either 1,106 or 1,116.

The fact that he said this with the CDC in ATLANTA should spark a citizens coup of the Governor's office.

Seriously, they should storm the State Capitol, run him out and takeover. LOL

I would put the odds of him resigning by the end of the year at more than 0%. Not much more than that, but it's non-zero at this point. Public opinion is turning on him pretty hard. He sat on his hands as long as he could, justified it with "well look at all these counties (that make up 20% of the state's population) where there aren't any confirmed cases", and now that the rapid geographic spread in the subsequent week totally fricked that narrative up and threatened his support among his rural voter base he panicked and gave that ridiculous explanation about just learning about asymptomatic shedding on fricking Tuesday.

Bear, I've spoken a lot about society and its issues lately because it's an election year, and I think it's a big, big, BIG mistake to reelect Trump. And I say that as someone who voted for him the first time.

I am opinionated about the US and its faults, sure, but I have usually kept most of that to myself in year's past. In the last several months I've said my piece, but I've very lately begun to let that crap go because I believe the US is simply doomed. I only chimed in recently to try and understand what's going on with y'all re: covid-19, why your (the country's) decision-making is 2 weeks (maybe 3) behind where it should be - because it's honestly confounding and legitimately concerning. My grandma is 90 and is Dothan - I don't want her to die. Same goes for my Dad, whose 69. I'm still a damn human, man. But so many here constantly think I'm arguing - I'm not. Incredulity can exist without judgment. The reality is that y'all are straight fricked, medically and economically - and it's fricking sad, man. I'm not arguing; I'm fricking bummed.

But I didn't enjoy this participation in the convo today, and look forward to avoid participating further. If you're aboard the Titanic sinking, I get that it sucks to discuss it with a person who's not sinking with you - so I won't anymore. I hope you all make it to lifeboats.

Good luck everyone with your country, your election, and your virus. I'll do my best to stay out of the discussion of all 3.

Roll Tide. I hope we can talk football soon. THAT is what I want to talk about.

Pretty much nothing. As is typical, you have groups of media that are either too dumb to know better or know better but for personal political reasons choose to act in an intellectually dishonest matter.

Pull say, Florida’s order from a day or so ago and Ivey’s from last week and you will see there is little difference. In some cases, Alabama is under tighter restrictions and went under them a week earlier.
