You mean the kid who did a hat switch on us on signing day?

I wouldn't pay any attention to that account. They also tweeted this gem.

Would love to see him at Bama but I have to wonder if Bama can afford him or maybe he’s just using this visit to elicit more money from the real school he wants to attend.

Texas schools are dropping absolute bags right now. Current era of NIL sucks hard.

Unless something structurally changes, Alabama football as we all know it is cooked.

Remember when recruiting 4 and 5 stars were the key? We were good at that.

Now those guys are being bought by Texas oil money and Billionaire Big 10/12 money.

We will be at a permanent talent disadvantage.

I hope to be proven wrong.

We’ll soon see guys opting to stay in college 4-5 years and retire early, lol.

Unless some rails are put on college football will essentially boil down to who has money and who doesn't. They are paying more than the NFL right now and I can't see how some sort of intervention isn't immenient.
If nothing else the NFL putting pressure down. I can't believe the minor leagues of baseball hasn't suffered the same fate. Truly wild

I have been saying for two years, and got consistently downvoted, and probably will get downvoted now like I give a s**t, that we could be shooting a short stick compared to other teams in this new era of college football.

We have hung our hat on tradition and class and certain standards and values for 134 years. Now it’s about money. Period.

And everything could implode and the sport will have to start over from its club origins … maybe it would be for the best and we’d see if people actually would turn out to watch anyone who’s wearing the uniform … but I don’t see any realistic way this gets reeled in save a collective agreement which isn’t happening. The courts have spoken, the president has zero authority to do anything and Congress isn’t about to touch an antitrust exemption.

Can’t believe I’d say this but it almost makes me want to switch to watching the NFL. At least they have rules.

We're still very, very good at doing that.

Where we are lacking now are the funds to pay $3 million for a fringe OL starter in the portal.

This shite won't get fixed until college football follows the NFL and puts a Collective Bargaining Agreement into place.

The problem with that though is college football players only play for 4-5 years. As soon as the first batch of players that agreed to it cycles through the next batch will sue because they didn't agree to it.

I had never even heard of the Cincinnati QB who supposedly is being paid 5M. For context, Milroe and Ewers are getting paid around 1M base salary in the NFL this year. I’m not sure what boosters are willing to pay this type of money when they could just invest in a pro sports team and at least then get some kind of return.

But they don’t have yearly free agency.
