I don't know what the frick you're trying to say here but if you watched the QB play today like I did then you'd know our best shot to make the playoff is redshirt freshman Keelon Russell. If Mack starts we'll lose 4 or more games. It was night and day between them. And everyone in the stadium could see it.
I was not, in any way, calling for Mack to start. Not even a little bit

It was completely fricked. No idea where all those people came from but you could tell most were high school age and shite was going to pop off as it was getting rowdy. The cops literally parked cruisers at every intersection on University blvd and had the sirens blaring in an attempt to disperse the crowds.
We ate at the student center and planned on grabbing a drink before leaving but the cops told us the strip was closed. They wouldn't even allow us to "go" inside one of the businesses. It was definitely like one of those teen takeovers that have been happening everywhere.

Nah, you are just talking out of your arse like usual.
Leave. Find another team to pretend to be a fan of.

By stating factual statements that can in no way be disproven? Interesting Grundy. You seem well adjusted too.
Was JD a first round pick or Heisman winner his redshirt freshman year?
Has any team with the combined starts we will have at OL and QB ever won the SECCG or NC in the BCS or Playoff Era? (I’ll even give you 5 starts leeway…any team within 5 combined starts?)
Some people on this board love hype, but hate reality. It’s quite funny to watch how triggered people get. The reality is, this is a rebuilding year for us, and we need to keep all of our young players in place for the next season and hopefully 2028 to have a shot at a title. Be mad or emotionally unhinged if you want, it won’t change reality. Eventually the reality will hit this fall, and that’s when posters like yourself say some of the dumbest things on this board because you can’t understand reality ahead of time.

We have a championship level secondary and an AA pass rusher. If we get quality DL and LB play we can compete for championships with that defense.
We have championship level WRs if RCW is back to his freshman form.
OL and QB is what will determine our ceiling on offense and based on what I saw from KR QB will be improved from what we had post Missouri last year.
OL I saw some issues at RT but wasn’t sure because of camera issues who was playing who meaning I’m not ready to make any real judgement about what we do or don’t have there yet but there were some runs we didn’t see last year off the left side that were potentially promising.

Certainly a reasonable post. I wasn’t able to watch yesterday but if the 31 carries for 65 yards being mentioned on tRant is correct, not sure how that isn’t a major red flag (combined with rumors out of practices).
I think our defense will be pretty good, but LSU convinced themselves all spring and fall camp last year that their defense was just elite and their OL was going to be fine. Their OL wasn’t fine against SEC defenses, and they had a lot more experience than we will next fall.

He’s a paid troll who gets paid to sit on here and make outlandish comments like others in this thread have stated. It’s made this site nearly impossible to have a reasonable conversation. The people who run this site are trash.

Yeah, its lame. But i told myself I gotta quit taking in so much political slop and celebrity gossip. I forget that sports talk has become almost the exaxt same.

No doubt. We don’t hate the media, both small and mainstream, nearly enough.

Unfortunately all most people have to go on is highlights and sizzle reels plus limited stats.
“We’ll know what we have in the Fall,” is essentially my mindset. I’ve not gotten this way just because of DeBoer. The 2022 team talked a good game in the offseason but came up short on the field. I was burned by getting excited about the joyless murderball talk from the OL in 2022. Last year, I was burned by sports media access journalists about this team’s national title potential in the offseason.

Yeah, lots of paid trolls give away free Alabama basketball tickets during the season.

Wait, you think watching a single A-Day game makes a person an expert or outweighs about 30 years of actual football data?

Russell has the potential to be a generational HoF talent that books get written about someday. I say that knowing full well that there will be times this year that he looks like a redshirt freshman. The thing is, I’m not going to turn around in circles in the floor wringing my hands about it like BamaBravesPackers. If we don’t win the big trophy this year, we don’t win it. That’s not going to be the decider of whether it’s a successful season. I just want to kick some butts and be competitive in every game and have a serious chance to play for the big trophy without worrying about s*itting the bed in a given week. If we do that things will take care of themselves.

Not sure you know what this looks like. If you want to understand the words you used, feel free to come on this board during and after a loss.
I’m just trying to give KR, DeBoer, Grubb, new OL coach, etc. some air cover with realistic expectations. It’s not realistic to expect a 19yr old redshirt freshman with the youngest OL of any SEC team and likely any of the top 20 teams in the country to carry us to a trophy (or even semifinal win), no matter how good he is. That means rebuilding year by the definition of what a rebuilding year means.
You and others can be mad it’s true, makeup a weird definition of rebuilding year to say it isn’t, or convince yourself that we have a legit shot at a trophy if you want (other than Heisman…see Tebow’s 10-3 season). I’m going to enjoy the season watching KR make some amazing plays, some 1st year starter mistakes, and probably win a big game while also losing a game we shouldn’t, all while understanding we’re building for 2027 and/or 2028. We are likely going to flirt with 9-3 vs 10-2 a lot this season, with 8-4 on the table if things go against us (very outside chance of 11-1 if KR is literally the best QB that’s ever stepped foot in the Bama locker room). I won’t be surprised or materially disappointed at 9-3 and missing the playoffs unless we drop the Iron Bowl at home. If we go 10-2 and lose one of our 1st two playoff games, that will be a very successful season for this group…and I’ll enjoy it thoroughly. I’ll save my melts for DeBoer’s terrible situational awareness, win or lose. Bad coaching is just terrible to watch for me. Y’all have fun in this thread.

For anyone that attended yesterday, did any of the RB's stand out to you? Hearing a lot about Russell (understandably so,) but not much about the backs or OLine.
Posted on 4/12/26 at 1:47 pm to Marktastic86
Stats say the run game was more of the same yesterday but also plenty of Saban’s teams couldn’t run for shite in the A-Day game then be one of the top rushing offenses in the nation the proceeding fall.
