I’m going to choose my words carefully here and am likely to be flamed but I don’t give a caca.

This is what happens when a cult of personality grows around a coach, even if that coach is the GOAT.

I can’t fuss too much about transferring when a coach retires. It sucks and as a fan I want all these guys to stay but some of these guys came to Alabama due to relationships. The days of being invested in a university are done. It’s all about money and name branding. I’ll keep watching until I just can’t take it anymore but hopefully some kind of guard rails get put in place. I do think that if the portal is open to players to leave that the university should have the same opportunity to replace those players at that time and not have to wait until spring portal opens. Maybe the university can but I’m not in with all the rules.

I do partially own a successful business. This is what I will say. Almost all the time, it’s best to keep your emotion and knee jerk reaction out of your thought process. It seems like you and maybe powhound could use a breather. Take a step back and just enjoy the ride. At the end of the day whether we like the hires, or we don’t (I have no complaints) we are spectators and have zero impact on the decisions made. Relax brother it’s going to be fine.

My emotions are very in check with the business I run. That has nothing to do with two morons thinking hiring and retaining mean the same thing and not admitting they fricked up once it’s pointed out.

And here we have another poster who has 24k posts to my less than 4500 but I’m the one whose life is tied up in this. Lol
I just simply pointed out that a hire at coach who I was ok with has now made bad hire after bad hire.

I chose my words carefully because I don’t want to seem like I am criticizing Saban. He is the GOAT. But he’s also a man. And he was not going to be our coach forever. And we were eventually going to have to move on from him into a new world in which there are no guarantees of uninterrupted continuity.
