The majority of voters in Alabama have never really been interested in advancing the state. It’s why we rank near the bottom in so many categories.

If the price of progress is turning into Portland, New York City and Los Angeles then the citizens of Alabama are not in the wrong.

I've met multiple people lately that moved to Huntsville from California, on Sunday it was a couple from San Francisco. It seems like a lot of people are moving away from those areas that are just so advanced.

Some senator candidates may have the political connections to continue the service Shelby’s done to make sure pork barrel is appropriately apportioned to our universities and major industries.

Britt is the only one I trust to fulfill the transactional relationship at the core of politics. The others are just self-aggrandizing blowhards

Britt is the most deep state candidate on the ballot.

There's no real vision. Just creating a mess then complaining about the results.

Both extremes suck. The left bc we allow cities to overrun the rest of the state. The right bc of its intrusive moralizing.

Not necessary to move that far, but would be nice to not be last in education, health, etc..

Then phasing out the welfare state should be top priority. Do what Colorado does with birth control.

I can't pull myself to vote for Ivey. Not after the bayway bridge fiasco or the new prison system funding. It just seems like she keeps making these big deals that aren't to the benefit of the people of Alabama.

Ivey being the best option is a joke. I don't know who it is but it's not her. She's an embarrassment. She refuses to debate and can't answer reporters questions. What a bargain.

People in Alabama that vote for Ivey have no room to
make fun of Joe Biden. They’re the same people, just different parties. If you’ve seen Ivey in person you’d wonder how in the hell she’s fit to be governor. It’s an embarrassment. It’s a total Weekend at Bernie’s situation.

Alabama loves to talk about how we hate deep state, lifelong, RINO establishment politicians….but Kay Ivey, a former Democrat, backed by the wealthiest people & corporations in the state, has been running for office for 40 years and is on the brink of being our governor for over a decade. It’s not due to political skill or talent either. It’s due to complacency of voters and the lazy Alabama media. Not saying the other candidates are the answer, just that it’s a shame the same anger and intensity that’s directed at DC isn’t directed towards the Governor’s office.

Britt and Brooks are the only senate candidates I'm even aware of.

Of course, Britt giving Alexander Shunarrah a run for his money with the billboards is annoying...as are the multiple flyers I keep getting from Mo proving he's swinging from Trump's nutsack. I'm a Trump supporter, but I need more than just MAGA rhetoric from a candidate. I do think at least Mo wouldn't go RINO...guess my vote is still up in the air for Senate. I'm also ready to replace Tuberville in the Senate with a competent conservative when the time comes.

But I still won't vote for Granny Ivey or Toll Bridge Tim.

I don’t think there is any need to emulate any one state, region, or city. But this state fails to even acknowledge our problems, so getting to the point of emulating anything is next to impossible. Instead we get politicians getting on our TV’s “standing up to Marxist Obama” or “standing up to socialist Biden”, while standing in front of a church with a high powered rifle in one hand and a Bible in the other. And voters reward them with landslide victories. Meanwhile, our schools continue to languish, kids graduate unprepared for college, rural healthcare is abysmal, infant mortality is among the lowest in the nation(PRO-LIFE!!!!), poverty rate is among the highest in the nation, etc. not that government is the solution for all of these ills, but it’d be nice if we actually demanded better out of our candidates to actually address some of these issues on the campaign trail, instead of assuaging some middle class citizen’s feelings over having to wear a mask in Publix.

If the Republicans in this state aren't getting it right, why aren't Democrats doing better to propel Alabama forward?

Surely, cities with Democrat leadership like Birmingham are far ahead of the rest of the state when it comes to stuff like education and poverty.

I mean, you're only attacking one side here. The GOP wouldn't be able to cruise to resounding victories if the other side offered actual solutions to your listed problems.

You're absolutely attacking a side.

But if you want to take that approach, fine. My point still stands. If the Republicans are doing such a shite job, why aren't the Democrat candidates offering to make things better? Hell, why aren't they making things better in the positions they do hold?

Voters don't have to demand better if there are already candidates running on platforms to provide change for it. If you don't like the way the state is being run, then do something about it. Run a campaign with an actual plan, not just a campaign with a donkey or elephant next to your name.

Voting for Britt in the Senate race.

Yuck. She touts herself as the "new blood" candidate when in truth she has spent years in Washington working for Richard Shelby and is backed by the money that backed him.

There is not a republican candidate for Senate that I like, unfortunately.
