Bowl matchups just suck. How do we get a worse matchup after moving up in the conference positioning? Penn State is gonna play Tulane in their major bowl game. They've got to readjust

We got no leg to stand on. Our best win is Ole miss by 6? Nothing special. Team has the talent to beat anyone but just never developed into that mid to later season machine like in the past.

We're basically gridlocked at #6. If UGA, Michigan and TCU lose, they stay in the playoff hunt, they won't move an inch

I’m fine with it. There was a time I would’ve been upset, but this season has wrung a lot of that out of me. I’m just ready to move on from some of the current upperclassmen, a chunk of the staff, and get back on track.
And to be clear, we’re not on track right now. It’s Alabama, we’re don’t rebuild - we reload, we play for championships, we dominate opponents and play smart, we force other teams to play scared, we make teams hate playing us. If you’re not doing that, the season is a failure. We haven’t done that in 2 years now. Even our wins haven’t been Bama football, and many of them actually felt like losses. I’m tired of it.
Saban needs to find the old fire, send some guys packing, and bring in some players and coaches that will buy in.
And to be clear, we’re not on track right now. Better win? We both beat Texas.
We also had a much harder schedule.
If it's a close loss to KSU; I agree we got a minimal shot. If it is a big loss? We got a chance.
We need both USC and TCU to lose though

It might not be the best teams in the top 4, but they’ve earned their shot. Bama didn’t. We were just lucky the rest of the West had as bad of a year as we did. This team has the talent to take on anyone, but they don’t have the discipline.

Like I said, I would have been shocked to see Bama at 5...they took the least "controversial" route. We had no business losing to ut or LSU... even last second on the road. And like was said... what's our best win to hang our hat on? Having both Texas and Texas A&M flop did our schedule no favors...yet our schedule was still far tougher than Ohio State's. But I think things like that only really come into play when comparing teams with the same record. They see 1 loss vs 2 losses and that's it... especially when it's another blue blood program.
Now we'll get some game like vs Kansas St in the Sugar that no one cares to see. Throw in the opt outs and we'll probably lose... especially if they throw Milroe out there. I wish they'd at least give Milroe and Simpson 2 quarters each just to get the competition started and see what we have. That might at least make it worth watching. Personally I'd rather play Clemson in the Orange Bowl...at least it sounds like a playoff matchup.

Funniest thing is seeing all this official CFB media heads and accounts literally melting over us being 6. We're not making it. Literally nothing that should be able to complain about. Nope. Apparently it's a travesty we're ahead of UT

It's called Bama fatigue. Everyone except most Bama fans are thrilled we didn't make another playoff. Can't help but wonder had the roles been reversed between Bama & Ohio St would we still be #6? Our coordinators let the team down this year

I don’t know why people assume TCU stays in if they lose. That’s a total guess. I think we go in with a loss by USC and TCU. They have had a lot of close games and shite schedule.

Won't be long before we start getting the announcements for the guys skipping the bowl game. Looking at probably 4-6 guys sitting out.

If we had extended the number of teams in the playoffs, we wouldn't be having this debate. So to all the Bama fans screaming 4 is enough, 4 teams isn't enough every year.

Even with TCU and USC losing, we still won't get in. They'll keep TCU in and Ohio State would go before us.
Looking at Bryce, Will, Gibbs and Battle to sit out to start with.
Not sure we're done with transfers either. Might see some receivers and linebackers move on.
