Perkins could win some big ones but always lost to mediocre teams like LSU. Curry couldn't beat Auburn and never embraced the culture. Perkins was a risky but understandable hire, Curry was an inexcusable hire.

I’m aware of all that. I witnessed it in real time. Was just pointing out that a coach’s prior record may not tell the whole story. Stallings also had a losing record as a head coach before coming to Bama.

More I think about it, the more every considered my opinion. We should only hire a coach with ties to Saban and/or Alabama. There's no way that logic could backfire on us.

I don't begrudge your opinion but I feel almost exactly the opposite unless the fit is indisputable.

I feel like his time with Saban matured him. He’s changed that pacifying culture Texas had in that locker room. He always says he owes everything to Nick and Terry. I’m telling you. It’s Sark.

But he was bad at Texas too until this past season.

If it were Sark, maybe that means Kyle Flood will come back and coach our OL. That would be nice.

I'd be cool with that. But I sure as hell wouldn't say that but I sure as hell wouldn't mention him as a candidate to non-Alabama fans, because it sounds absurd that he'd leave.

Not saying it's impossible. But only be because he hates Texas boosters or the City of Austin. But I think because of the sark love, he is one of the few that could demand The unquestioned authority that Saban was given when he was hired.

Either way, the boosters need to do exactly what they have done under Saban, and not what they did before him. There is a reason Texas is struggled, when they really should be one of the most dominant, winningest programs in history.

I truly hope we've learned our lesson from the post bear era.

Well, that’s a leap from what I said and would be quite stupid.

3 years is a pretty good turnaround for a coaching staff.

He’s wasn’t bad. He had to change 15 years of whiney crying mentality that was in that locker room. Texas was a shite show behind the scenes. He’s built an offense that can outright go. His defensive unit he’s built is also very impressive. He manages games. And mainly, Texas ain’t Bama. He could build a legacy here. It’s Sark: bank it.

The only way I would be happy with hiring Sark is if he brought Pole Assassin and her monkey with him.

Did Lanning claim we even contacted him about the job?

Deboer would be either boom or bust I feel like. If he could find a way to get top talent continuing to come in, he would win big. If he cannot, he would be a very average hire. He can coach them up, but a lack of any southern ties is a concern when it comes to recruiting and attracting talent. Even the portal guys a lot of times end up going places where they had high school relationships while being initially recruited.

To me he's clearly behind Kirby and Sark. I'd lump him with Lanning and Kiffin as all three have more question marks than the other two.

Would be crazily ironic after all that Saban to Texas talk in 2012.

I would love it but can’t see him leaving his current job.

And Texas has a lot of money if they want to keep their coach. Same as Oregon. Oregon has that one booster with $$$

Why would Clemson let their coach use their jet to interview with a different school?

They wouldn't. Probably from when he was recruiting somebody from the area or when he came back for the 92 reunion.
