Yeah. I'd expect that from anyone in his position. People, especially fans, read way too deep into innocuous statements.

Deboer does not fit whatsoever

Neither did Saban before he went to LSU. A good coach is a good coach. And NIL and the portal has changed so much about roster building.

Why? He runs a great program and has a lot of success everywhere he's been.

I don't see it as a great fit, but hiring someone who just navigated their team to a title game and an undefeated regular season and conference title, isn't exactly a bad hire.

With Saban's retirement there are four active coaches with a National Championship active. One of them is Mack Brown.

There's no guarantees with anyone out there.

Perkins could win some big ones but always lost to mediocre teams like LSU. Curry couldn't beat Auburn and never embraced the culture. Perkins was a risky but understandable hire, Curry was an inexcusable hire.

My alarm didn't wake me up this morning, so he was at work the day after retiring at the same time I woke up.

That's why I'm not the GOAT.

Saban never had any experience in the South before he got to LSU. This whole "he has no experience in the South" thing is stupid. He's currently the best candidate with the highest winning percentage. He took freaking Washington to the national championship in only his second season.

I'll also add, N1UA has not left Tuscaloosa since January 8th. It made a quick trip to Jupiter, FL (Saban and Ms. Terry's new Florida residence).

Oregon is about as bush league a team as there is, so that fits.

And beat Sark with less talent. Trying to recruit at Washington has got to be hard as hell. There's almost no in-state talent. Seattle's still very far away from where any recruiting hot bed is located. Once you've gone that far, I could see Cali kids preferring to just go to the SEC, where they are treated like royalty on campus.

If people are thinking like I am, they are worried about his recruiting abilities. Can he go out and recruit against stellar recruiters like Smart, Sark, Kelly, etc.?

I said this much earlier in the thread, but Sarkisian has only had one good season in his entire career despite coaching at multiple top tier programs. Maybe he's turned a corner, but the resume as a head coach is very weak.

No. We don't suck. It's more like 1983 or 96 all over again

I feel like his time with Saban matured him. He’s changed that pacifying culture Texas had in that locker room. He always says he owes everything to Nick and Terry. I’m telling you. It’s Sark.

More I think about it, the more every considered my opinion. We should only hire a coach with ties to Saban and/or Alabama. There's no way that logic could backfire on us.
