You’ll have to convince the boosters and fans of that strategy tho.

He hasn’t liked anything on twitter since January 2nd those tweets you’re referring to are photoshopped. There are many trolls talking shite and stirring the pot and a lot of people are falling for it.

Kiffin has never won anything of substance and he hasn't done anything at Ole Miss that Hugh Freeze didn't. Freeze actually was more competitive with elite teams. I don't understand this acting like Kiffin's on field resume is so impressive. He was a disaster everywhere before FAU.

Guys who don’t like Kiffin are completely discredited what he did with Alabama talent. His offenses are the best we’ve ever had. We will be electric on offense with him as the HC.
Now I personally don’t think he’d bring Golding back but even if he did BoB got us to the National Title with Golding so I’m sure Kiffin will have no issue.

If Lane wasn’t such a dick and didn’t burn bridges leaving town he would be the coach today. It’s not happening tho

I prefer the panic and fake sources... let's burn this place down for the next 48 hours with misinformation

So, exactly what 90% of frat boys at Bama are doing? If y'all only knew how much coke is snorted in Tuscaloosa. I know Bama fans scared to send their kids Tuscaloosa because of the amount of blow around there. It's the worst kept secret in town.

Assuming it isnt lane after Lanning; who is apparantly all of the sudden not coming who do you like? I dont really have anyone else that comes to mind as a splash to keep our roster.

Kiffin proved he can at least do the portal. DeBoer hasn’t done either (not saying he can’t but we haven’t seen it)

Penix sure didn’t sign with UW out of high school my friend.

The reality is each of the candidates have questions, because the only guy doesn’t is retiring to Florida right now.

I mean who outside of Kirby is even a proven championship level coach?

I’d argue it’s:
Tier 1
Kirby (rumored to have talked with the Falcons)

Tier 2:
Harbaugh (NFL every year plus cheating scandal)
Lanning: young, no championships
DeBoer: recruiting
Sark: B12 champ, impossible to outbid UTX
Kiffin: recruiting, Joey freshwater
Kelly: no championships
Dabo: NIL questions
Norvell: party reputation, Orange Bowl tantrum

So I can see having a favorite candidate, but I think we should all consider ourselves exceptionally lucky if we land someone in tier 2 who has a chance to be elite and understand none of them are or will be Saban so we need to chill a bit from an expectations standpoint.

Is Lanning supposed to have a press conference here in the next hour or so? Read elsewhere but I never know what to believe.
. Waiting on the plane to land…or take off…from Tuscaloosa…or Eugene…not sure which, stay tuned.

He actually has. Hugh never won 11 games. He also has had two 10+ win seasons. Hugh had one.

SEC West is much weaker today than it was then. Freeze was going up against a Mississippi State team that hit #1, LSU frequently as a top five team, Alabama maybe at its absolute peak, Auburn even making it to the NCG, A&M was consistently ranked, Arkansas even had some ranked finishes. Kiffin has had Alabama slightly off, LSU down, Auburn way down, Arkansas down, A&M down, Mississippi State a total joke. You're saying he's done more because he had one more win in two seasons against weaker competition. Freeze also did things Kiffin hasn't, like beating highly ranked teams

Next to no chance on that one. Search would be a massive failure if that’s the result.

Exactly, I hate when guys get propped up after having one generational QB(for their program not overall). We won’t know if DeBoar is any good until after he coaches without Penix and we already know Norvell sucked once Travis went down.

I don't think it's a strategy. You recruit as well as you can. I just think the ability to supplement through the transfer portal has lessened the need to stack top five high school classes.

I think if they can’t get a deal with Lanning they will speak to Deboer and Norvell but Norvell would get the job, which means it’s never getting to Kiffin (no way Norvell turns it down) I will say I don’t bet against Greg Byrne having someone we aren’t thinking of in his back pocket tho. We will see

Two sources confirmed to me late this afternoon, that Bama athletic director Greg Byrne, knowing that Nick Saban retiring was always a possibility, has had his eyes on Kalen DeBoer for some time. Byrne is highly respected.

If this is true, then I think DeBoer is the guy.
