Norvell is my dark horse. I think he is a hell of a coach and a recruiter.

NFL schedule is way less demanding, the work life balance in the NFL is much better than it is for college with the recruiting component.

True.

I agree. I’m not sure if he was contacted but I hope so.

Marquis Maze is tweeting that a successor is already in place, but he won't say who it is. He only said it's not Smart.

Marquis Maze tweet:

One thing I know for sure he isn’t leaving the program in a bad space, that’s just the type of man he is, I’m sure his staff and everybody was prepared for this. Somebody already in place to be the coach, I already know who we got but I can’t tell yall just yet

I watched Norvell's team totally quit on him because they were asshurt over being left out of the playoffs. No thanks.

That's definitely never happened to any other good coach.

Break out the Louis V moving boxes and send them west. Coach Prime is coming.

Not funny?

Dan Lanning is 37 years old. He coached under Saban and Kirby. He's 22-5 at Oregon. His recruiting classes finished the last two cycles ranked #4 and #7 overall.

He's my choice.

I think it is Sark or Lanning.

If it were Kiffin he would have been looped in and wouldn't have signed that bug extension.

Give me Lanning all day.

I'm sure Saban will have some influence in the next choice. Would be crazy if they pulled a Notre Dame and just elevated someone internally lol

Lanning would be huge, basically anybody following Saban is going to disappoint, but Lanning is one of the few candidates who it feels like can create a strong winning identity that isn't just a slow decline.

Not that I would ever want it to happen but I would love an alternate time line to see the circus.
