The Ivy League schools left FBS, and they don't even participate in the FCS playoffs. To them it's academics and weird political agendas first before anything related to sports

They won't be doing shite in FB

If Lanning is the guy, that is great news. A young guy almost half Saban’s age with fire and something to prove. No one will ever truly replace Saban but I find the youth to be a good thing rather than a drawback when it comes to replacing a GOAT!!

Agree with this… replace him with a young, passionate, talented coach. Will he live up to the GOAT, never… but it would be great to move from one long term coach to another, and not hop on a coaching carousel

There is no perfect hire. Lanning has a chance to be elite here for 20 years. Kirby is the surest thing out there. Beyond that everyone is somewhat of a gamble, but Lanning certainly has a lot of the ingredients you’d want.

There's something about lanning that makes me think he would be a Saban clone. Probably not going to win 7 championships but I don't think nobody can do that again. But he seems like he's all business.

One thing to consider regarding whoever we hire is he doesn't have to be perfect to win a title now. Hell, losing 2 games will be normal for teams making the CFP.

We need a guy who can recruit, win 90% of his games (not 99%) and navigate this portal and NIL bullshite.

Lanning bothers me. Oregon has more talent but got beat by Washington twice

If this is true, we can’t expect him to be Saban. He needs to be given grace.

Took us 30 years to find Saban after Bryant was done. Stallings was solid in between.

Saban didn't even win 90% of his games at Bama.

DeBoer is a fantastic HC and that was a really good UW team.

Alabama has had more talent than any other team in 2023, 2022, and 2021 and lost 6 games over that span. Does Saban bother you too?

I’m not sure Oregon has more talent than Washington THIS year. They certainly don’t have the same level of offensive talent. Perhaps on defense.
