UGA beat Oregon 49-3 last year. 49-3.
Took time to wash the Barn stink off of Bo Nix. That shite is hard to get off.

That was Lannings first game as a head coach. Georgia beat Ole Miss 52 to 17 this year in Kiffin’s 12th year as a head coach.

Last year, you mean the team that won a national championship 60something to 7?
So Oregon =/= TCU and I'm supposed to be impressed. Mizzou, Georgia Tech, and Kentucky all played pretty well against UGA last year.

It’s about indicators more than anything.

Saban turned Bama back into an absolute power. The success, the trophies, the NFL stars…it’s all still here.
A great recruiter like Lanning with the script A will be able to get players.
This is still Bama. Rival fans think we’re automatically reverting back to the Shula days. That was all due to probation.
The program has been elevated to a level that’s still hard to fathom. That doesn’t just vanish.
Now I don’t expect 6 Natties and utter dominance but with the 12 team playoff I expect this program to still compete for SEC titles and playoff spots.
A new era is upon us.
If the next coach can hire a great staff and keep a lot of the players already here then we can still compete for a Natty in 2024.
The QB spot will be interesting. Typically a new coach is going to open up a competition but we’ll see. I wonder if that’s why Simpson stayed.

It was literally his 1st game as a head coach ever.
Ever.
He's gone 22-4 since then.

Lanning is way too emotional, ergo, the opposite of Nick Saban who says to do things with emotion but not emotionally.

Nick Saban showed no fire this year.
Knew he was going to retire

Most 37 year olds are more emotional than 72 year olds when it comes to work.

Othello, who do you want?
Newsflash - whoever you say, they aren’t going to be in Saban’s stratosphere. It’s over.
Everyone, sans Kirby, has risks. Lanning is not proven long term but he checks an awful lot of boxes.
