Wimp slapped his secretary. Dubose screwed his secretary. Gottfried got it behind a tree on the 14th hole. Price got rode by Destiny. Kiffin was doing the whole town. Tuscaloosa is like a hedonism tour apparently.

I think Sark is in this. It all comes down to is he willing to leave Texas and did Saban ask him to come. But I think the 3 I listed are all possible

The fact that none of the tier one candidates have signed a contract extension that's already in front of them, that's a whole new level of uncertainty and anxiety into the situation. It's shitty and confusing, and literally all controlled by Sexton. He's a one stop coach shop, and all you gotta do is keep the buffet trays full.

Appears Sark is off the table. It’s 2024, so turning down a job is essentially posting to social media, and Sark just put out a reassuring tweet.

Byrne better not limp dick this. Mal swallowed his pride and didn’t take no for an answer. Go make the sales pitch. That’s your job Greg.

I never thought he would actually come but was holding out hope that maybe Byrne could pull off Sark. Sark would tweet that if he wasn’t staying.

Dabo now has the best odds as of an update a few minutes ago. Who the hell is betting on Dabo being the coach?

$200 million over 15 years?

Would you offer something like that
yeah. To Kirby. But i really wouldn't want to anyone for more than 5 years on their initial contract. But sexton will talk them into 6 or 7 years, depending on who who get. But I bet Kiffin would take a 4 year deal

Sarkisian was never a real candidate. He already has a good thing going at Texas. I never thought he would leave.

My dark horse prediction is that plane that went to Athens earlier from Tuscaloosa was to go get Glenn Schumann.

He's about the only up and comer I wouldn't be angry about. But I just don't see how you hire someone with zero head coaching experience to replace the Goat, and the rabid fan base and expectations. Replacing Saban isn't a job to learn on.

Like Saban said about Lanning, you gotta let some good ones go on their own and see them do their thing. Then you can bring them back with more and different experience. He's seems like a "Mama's called" kinda guy. He needs to spread his wings.

One thing i truly believe about this situation, and the "you don't want to follow the legend, you want to follow the guy who followed" theory.

Even if the next guy fricks up, and can't win. I don't see him running it into the ground to where we'll turn back to the kind of misery Nebraska fans have gotten used to.

If Deboer turns Bama down, our best bet may be assistant coach. God forbid we go the route of every other major program in the country.

No need for Byrne to overthink this. Get Kiffin.

Anybody in college football is a real candidate if the offer is right.

Our AD needs to make the offer right.

You literally have no idea who has been or who hasn’t been contacted. It’s been 2 days

Well we will know when Byrne makes the announcement. If we haven’t heard anything by Saturday we can assume he’s missed on whoever his candidates were and is now on to a second tier list.

Maybe a weird take here - if we’re down to Dabo or DeBoer, I don’t really have a big differential in preference depending on contract terms. I hope either gets a reasonable contract with a small buyout. If it’s Norvell I will be driving to Tuscaloosa and setting a mattress on fire in front of the stadium.

All of you need to go to bed. Let Greg do his job and stop freaking out about every coach using our opening to get points with their fanbase
