Who's left on this year's team that would've been part of the alleged USF "mutiny" last season ? There's about 3 starters I could potentially see in that camp but otherwise I don't see the list of players demanding Milroe to be the man as being a large contingency.

Evidently CNS thought otherwise.

Drew DeArmond is always on the money.

I totally get the vibe that DeBoer has a mess on his hands.

Saban left when he still had years in the tank - and HE SAID part of the reason he left was because of the players' attitudes.

People have been screeching about all the talent we have. Maybe that's true from a strictly physical sense although again I think star ratings are something that are designed to get clicks out of folks like a lot of those who post here.

But God only knows what kind of rot is in that locker room that we don't know about, and maybe DeBoer is asking himself, "What in the frick did I get into here?"

Again, Saban did absolute magic with this bunch last year. Magic.

I love Drew as well, we're buddies, but I can't entirely agree with this part. Saban is about to turn 73 in a few days. The landscape of college football has changed drastically in an incredibly short amount of time. You had to navigate Covid, open transfer portal to everyone, NIL, and your job as if it wasn't stressful enough was now a full 365-day chore. I'm sure there were players in the locker room that exhausted him but that's now part of the routine for almost every power 4 head coach. I mentioned this last night but I think it's becoming more and more evident this program has had issues since 2020 but Bryce Young and Saban masked a lot of the issues. Now with the face of the program gone, DeBoer is left with a mess to clean up and re-establish a culture that deems fit. The amount of close wins, ugly wins, "anxiety", penalties, and losses now have been a red flag. Now without Saban and the top QB in the draft, we're seeing the actual damage that can no longer be hidden.

I'm ready for a clean slate. There aren't many players on this team that I really like and there have been some evaluation issues in recruiting since Coivd that has really weighed us down. Let's get DeBoer his own locker room of his guys, especially at QB, and let's see what happens. I do feel bad for him because I think there are some locker room issues that won't be public until way down the road.

You summed up my thoughts in a lot less words than my post but yes right on the money.

I agree. Amazing what Saban did and how he handled this group last year.
I still am not sure what to make of the tweet that was posted earlier. But if coach is having to play favorites (or incumbents) then that is a real shame towards any player on any competitive team/sport.

It is wild that conservatism has become synonymous with being a crude jackass. I remember when conservatives were the ones associated with decency and good moral fiber. GOP found a way to cobble together a base after getting btfo’d in 2008 but it seems like it was by courting the hateful, spiteful jackass demographic.

It's unfortunate but football culture is just a reflection of the rot and decay of society in general.

How the he!! did this thread devolve into a political pissing match? I would be damned careful about claiming that “conservatives” are crude, rude etc. Yes, society as a whole has become less and less civil and kind. That’s on both “sides”. But if you want to go “there”, I have lots of easy ammo in the chamber……

After 8 years of Obama and 4 of Biden, I don't need a lecture from F liberals.

F um All.

Let them. I would rather lose with guys that aren’t a cancer than lose with guys that are.

This but it is an issue that carried over from the previous staff.

I just can't get behind blaming the previous staff when the previous staff had a large part of the core of this team a few plays away from a national title game.

I am not blaming the staff just stating this is not a new thing. This is a cancer in the game today and one of the reason I believe Saban retired.

I got you. Saban was chemo but he was only keeping it from metastasizing into what we’ve seen this season.
