Pate mentioned it a month ago. So it wasn’t even a well kept secret apparently.

Word is, Warde Manuel, the Michigan AD, is going to be fired tomorrow. He apparently knew about the situation long before now and did nothing.

I wanted this to be my last year with college football.

There’s so much ridiculousness that I feel like I’m spending my time following a Mexican soap opera.

But I just can’t walk away.

You take some calls, run the kids around and are about to call it a night and some coach is running around knocking up staffers and getting arrested like it’s Jerry Springer circa 2010 and as a result your coach is now again the target of a blue blood coaching search in the middle of the CFP.

It’s peak entertainment even if it’s completely ridiculous.

Minter has a show cause until April so I think the chance that he gets it is pretty slim.

They could let Poggi coach through spring ball if they really wanted him.

This will be the strategy LSU uses to frick Kiffin with in 2029

That didn't take long.

Because Nicole Auebach (and every other talking head of sports), just throws names out on a 'tweet', never caring about repercussions.

To be fair, both of Michigan’s On3 boards have confirmed KD is Michigan’s #1 target. They’ve also thrown out names like John Harbaugh, Jedd Fisch and another guy (can’t remember his name) that is currently the DC of the LA Chargers. He coached at Michigan as a DC recently. I think he has a show cause for some period of time, though.

Y’all need to understand that DeBoer’s name is going to be attached to almost every opening. I’d be very surprised if he leaves. Michigan would be an even bigger scheme refit than Alabama has been for him.

I saw him connected to Penn State and now Michigan, but not realistically by anyone else. And, again, to be fair, there were a lot of people connected with Penn State because they missed on a ton of people. Kurt Cignetti was far and away their #1.

I think Penn State went through 10 different coaching hot boards on On3.

Once LSU landed Lane Kiffin, there really isn't any other name to say if a booster or media type needs to throw some shite against the wall. That's my point. It's probably not a bad thing. I'd rather our coach be wanted than unwanted.

Are we talking - by Bama fans OR other fans?

Basically zero chance Coach DeBoer is leaving for Michigan, this is the usual churn similar to PSU.

One name to look out for this late in the coaching cycle is actually DJ Durkin. He coached under Harbaugh in 2015 and was quite successful there as his DC. I think he would sort of be the back up plan, but this late in the coaching cycle can force people's hands.

I agree , zero. He is building this in his vision, good or bad. Got the #2 class this year, going to get nice pieces in the portal.

Why go to a rebuild somewhere else.

He is not going to get an extension or a pay raise, Jimmy tried that with PSU

It looks good that our coach is wanted.

It’s like fans forgot the “Saban to xxxxxxx” that happened every year.

Late season slide aside, Bama just finished the top seed in the SEC and is in the playoffs. He’s going to be on everyone’s wish list. The fact that fans are restless because it wasn’t a 2012 Saban masterpiece makes it even easier to put a believable story out there.

This is already a train wreck. If the rumors of everyone knowing but doing nothing and the AD being in trouble are true along with coming on the heels of the cheating scandal it’s an East Palestine level train wreck.

It’s not going to be an attractive job for anyone already in a good spot and despite what you see here or on Finebaum, DeBoer is in a very good spot.

They’re in a post Mike Price situation (without the scholarship loss). It’s going to take someone dedicated to the program like Bama had with Shula or a unique opportunity and there’s one out there.

Brian Kelly.

He won’t be the fish out of water he was at LSU, he’ll be more successful because of the area and schedule, and he can probably be had relatively cheaply.
