Well, that conclusion sounds racist enough.

That particular woman is a racist. Anyone who makes blanket hate statements about others is racist.

Are you under the impression it's a color thing?

She thinks all white people are privileged. So her whole theory is based on color. That’s pretty racist

Are you?

I think you should sign up and donate to her class. She could be the soul mate that’s perfect for you.

Should we not point out racism whenever we see it?

Now, how did you miss what I believe? When I just said, that any person, of any color, that makes "blanket" statements about who everyone is, would be a racist.

Pretty simply partner.

I was pretty clear that she was a fat nasty bitch.

Maybe she was just hungry when she had that class. Which made her angry at all the white people In attendance. I don’t know but maybe she doesn’t like white people, especially the skinny ones

It’s almost 3 p.m. Time to turn off major appliances, set the thermostat to 78 degrees (or use a fan instead), turn off excess lights and unplug any appliances you’re not using.

The list is sent out every year by the power companies in the Western US.

This isn't normal. And it's not all western states. It's unique to locations where change in electricity sources was mandated before the technology existed to support it.

The state spent $100 billion to force 33% renewables, with no adequate storage to offset the unreliability of wind and solar. So at 6 pm when everybody gets home and starts using electricity and the sun starts going down, there is no more electricity. Other states don't have rolling blackouts in their cities. It's ridiculous that the world's largest tech and entertainment hub can't even supply electricity to it's populace.

I worked in the energy field for a many a yrs. And I can tell you this. Windmills and Solar cannot power major cities. Small towns and small cities they can to a degree. Windmills can usually produce 1.5 to 1.7 megawatts per windmill.

A coal fired boiler let say the ones at Miller Steam Plant at West Jefferson can produce 650 megawatts per unit. Do the math versus windmills

Even natural gas can’t come close coal fired units. Nuclear on the other hand can produce high megawatt energy but there very expensive to maintain.

One day the technology will be there. Hydrogen is really the cleanest energy around and there’s plenty to burn. I’ve rigged a hydrogen unit on a ole work car. It’s not hard to do. I gained 4.5 mpg on a crude set up.

So? What is your point? Are you looking for an energy debate? I don't work in that realm, nor do I care. When I need lights, I press the switch. If it's hot, I turn on the air conditioner. If it makes you feel better, I have rental property with solar panels.

From what I know, power companies in California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, and New Mexico have sent out these types of advisories, especially, during heat waves. I should have stated Southwestern US. Either way, it will not influence my view of California.

It's like we said the same things, but you still came to the dumbest conclusion possible:

quote:

Once the national Democrats became the party of civil rights, Alabama said to hell with them.

We did not start sending a majority Republican delegation to the federal House until the mid 90s, which is the same time we started voting for Republican federal Senators. There is no way to look at the history of Alabama voting patterns and come to the conclusion you made.

ETA: Republicans didn't run our state government until 2010 (it takes more than a governor to run a state), which is a fact you are clearly scared to acknowledge. DEMOCRATS brought our state down. REPUBLICANS are fixing it. Over a century of Democrat rule will not be fixed in 10 years.

Pure nonsense that you cannot support factually.

quote:

They became reliably Republican in the 80's with the Reagan revolution and Reagan really coopted a lot of what George Wallace and Goldwater were preaching in the 60's.

More nonsense. Reagan won all but 4 states in his first election, and all but 1 state in his second election. He didn't do that by espousing George Wallace's rhetoric.

Alabama, meanwhile, did elect a Dem governor in 1982: George Wallace. Then followed him up with Republican Guy Hunt only because Bill Baxley sued and won to force himself on the ticket as the Democrat after losing the Dem primary to the more conservative candidate. Alabama then gave Guy Hunt the most votes ever achieved by a governor in an election. He was the first Republican governor since Reconstruction. Not because the parties switched, but because of Democrats doing what Democrats do.

LOL WUT? ....What part of my OP are you not understanding exactly and wasn't factual? Tell me where I am wrong ?

Regan and the Republican's absolutely co-opted the politics of 1960's Wallace sans the segregation bullshite....which by the way Wallace had walked back in his 1968 campaign because he knew it was a loser. Reagan probably took as much from Goldwater who everyone thought would get us into WW3 but the inroads that Wallace made in '68 and '72 in the blue collarworking class demographic outside of the South definitely was noticed and set the stage for Reagan's 1980 campaign. You are thinking of the "School House Door" Wallace and not what he was running on 68 and 72

This isn't just my opinion but the view of a lot of astute historians and political scientists.....astute would be something alien to you.

quote:

....and after Wallace was washed up and dying there wasn't a Democrat worth a shite, a total moron like Guy Hunt rode in on the Reagan wave. Thank you for proving my point. I could have expanded on my OP discussing the rise of liberal secularism in the Democratic party among a myriad other reasons that flipped the South red in 1980 but I was actually replying to Stomp's post commenting on electorate flipping the state red because the Democrats became more liberal particularly as it related to 1960's civil rights struggle..
