Pruitt was infinitely more aggressive than Kirby. Golding is aggressive at times but likes to bring safeties from 20 yards. Hard to get there.

ETA - Seriously. Anyone, anywhere.
We just cherry picking games against bad offenses again.
We will know plenty about Golding in upcoming weeks.
I'm sure you will be back calling for him to be fired

That’s correct we will know a lot soon. I still think we are a solid team and have every opportunity to beat any team left to include Clemson, OSU, and ND.

When you have ex Bama players criticizing the def coach you know there are issues.

Dude, at this point the clock has been "right" for most of the season. There has been clear growth and development with our young defensive players, and they've been dominant for most of the season. You don't have to admit anything, but that doesn't make you less wrong.

Hey brother.
Boz’s basement mostly. He lets me out to go grocery shopping once a month.

No, I’m not admitting that yet. He’s improved, as has the defense.
Agree. Went 12 or quarters without allowing a touchdown which is solid regardless of competition

That game Saturday was the first time in a long time that our defense just took over the game. And, its not just Golding doing the coaching. A lot of players have improved dramatically as the season has progressed. That Briles-Baylor stuff didnt even seem to phase them Saturday.

I'll agree that he's improved. But I'm not convinced yet that much of our improvement on defense isn't attributable to Charlie Strong.

its not due to one person. Why do you think one person is to blame for poor play, or when they improve, its due to one person? Saban probably has way more input than Strong.

I have certainly dialed back my last season and early 2020 rhetoric regarding his ability as a play caller.

We have a few more games to play before we need to analyze this and also before we have the correct body of work.

Is everyone certain that he didn't lose his play calling duties halftime of Georgia ? Someone else could be calling from box, (strong) and Gold signals in. Seems like something drastic took place halftime of uga game.
Nobody knew Tosh had lost his duties until end of year so there is precedent.

I think it has been mentioned at least 1000 or so times by now that Charlie Strong is not part of the on field staff, is not allowed on the radio during games, and putting him on the radio during a game would put us in a world of shite.

lol, good luck with this on this board.

I'm actually shifting that way. From halftime against UGA on this defense has been pretty spectacular. Yes, there have been lapses at times, but that is going to happen to every team in this age of offensive football.
I still don't like a lot of his blitzes. Sometimes bringing a safety from 15 yards deep seems like an iffy move but I will admit he has forgotten more about football than I'll ever know.
The secondary play and the emergence of some disrupters up front have completely transformed what was looking like maybe the worst defense of Saban's Bama tenure into probably a middle of the road unit (by Bama standards).
I also like the way our future is looking. Gonna have some really nice pieces to move forward with next year.

Can we get past Florida, Clemson and OSU before we crown him? The next 3 games will tell the tale.

I think that's fair.
As kind of an aside, who do you guys consider to be the best defensive coordinators in college football right now?
